Say what you will about the prequels, but Revenge is by far the most compelling of the three and has arguably the best lightsaber duel in the films

@rgoodwyn 10 месяцев назад
It is def the most compelling of the three. Not really hard to beat Eps 1 and 2 though lol. The writing and direction for all 3 movies was pretty awful. The actors are what made this movie bearable. Ewan was amazing as Obi Wan though and even though Hayden gets a lot of crap I think he did pretty good considering what he had to work with and of course Mcdiarmid was spot on as Palpatine.

@@rgoodwynprequels extended so much the depth of the saga tho, the universe, the arc of Anakin, and brought some of the best themes, and the best fights Star wars wouldn't be star wars without the prequels We can't say the same for the sequels that literally brought 0 to the saga, even worst it destoyed the original message

@rgoodwyn

@@k4dow I respectfully disagree. I would say the prequels took away some of the emotional core of the original trilogy. Vader's sacrifice to save his own son does not really redeem him knowing he murdered many children just to "save" his wife that he then tried to murder. Just to name one big example. Part of what makes them so frustrating to me is that the themes and potential were there but most of them are just so bland and boring in execution. It ironic that people seem to hate the sequels so much and ignore the good stuff in them. Which is exactly what so many did when the prequels came out. I have issues with Eps 7,8 and 9 (especially 9 lol) but I still liked the first 2 overall.

Yes, Vader, at this time, believes Luke and Leia died with Padme. Her being a Galactic senator her Funeral was big news so, Bail Organa, the man who took Leia in, orchestrated the plan to put a fake belly on Padme's body at the funeral to imply that she was still pregnant when she died and the children went with her. If you notice, Padme is buried looking to be still pregnant. It was a brilliant way to keep Vader from investigating where the child went. It wasn't until after the destruction of the first Death Star that he would even learn that there was a possibility. It wouldn't have taken long for word to get around about the young hotshot pilot from Tatooine named Skywalker who was responsible. Vader was relentlessly looking for Luke as The Empire Strikes Back opens, and later during his contact with the Emperor does he accept it is his son. He doesn't realize there was a sister until Luke's thoughts betray him on the second Death Star, which Vader uses to tempt Luke to the Dark Side. It's probable that he didn't know it was Leia while he was alive. His dying words to Luke were "tell your sister you were right".

As a child before Obi-Wan started teaching him, he was hated and psychologically bullied by other children "Anakin is a slave to his feelings" and that was only because of envy because he was much more gifted and skilled than them. . . . And many other things and sufferings he and his padawan, Ashoka Tano, the Jedi like to cause. Yoda during the Clone Wars, he met the spirit of Darth Bane in Sitt's tomb, which is created by the rule of two. And later in his visions he saw Anakin becoming Darth Vader and didn't do anything about it because I thought it wasn't worth it. Anakin was a slave all his life - Tatuine, Jedi, Love, Dark Side. He became a father figure to Qui-gon Jinn, during his stay in the temple he was psychologically bullied and called by others "Anakin slaves to his own feelings", he lost his mother, the Jedi never married him all the time and without proper evidence he accused Ashoka and caused her to leave and finally he was afraid of losing Padmé. The only and worst support given the events was Palpatine who was a fatherly substitute for Anakin from the beginning. When he used Mace Windu's hand and after killing the Jedi he was already in the dark as the dark side itself showed him to the planet Mortis The One Son. On Mustafar, Padme almost got him from the dark side, but Obi-Wan discovered him and screwed it up. Anakin "Vader" built his castle on Mustafar and thanks to the two sbosobs he tried to revive Padmé but he could not see it due to the fact that Luke and Leya were already born, they were the only ones preventing it with their existence. Too bad he didn't find "Word between Wolrds" on the planet Lothal. He would create an alternate Reality or go through all of history. ;) . . . You have to find out about the lost 20 Jedi like Count Dooku, about the fates of Jedi with the ability to see the future, young apprentices who were not taken by any Jedi masters to learn, who showed little talent for the force and were not shown to the temple which in some cases was quite drastic, . .. Blinded by ego, aronance, pride, absolute help to people and not following the path of forces. Honor to the exceptions and one of the true Jedi was Master Fey. The Jedi and the Fallen Jedi (Sith) have betrayed the memory and message of their common ancestors of the Je'daii Order by their actions and the endless battles of their Civil War. 😊 May the force be with you. And may you lead the force. 🖐️

Damn that was intense, felt like watching it for the first time again myself. Wasn't prepared for those feels. That's the thing with the Dark Side. Even if the power to save lives would exist, the Dark Side corrupts you inside and out. Even if one would get so far into the mysteries of the Dark Side to learn that power, they would not use it for good because they are too far gone already. The only thing that can really bring a Dark Side user back to the light is the very thing that often made them fall to begin with: Love

The sixth movie (Ep III), is essentially the myth of Orpheus retold (which, imho, is why it's so compelling). Orpheus’s singing and playing were so beautiful that animals and even trees and rocks moved about him in dance. In the Orpheus myth, he marries his one true love, Eurydice, and on their wedding day, attempting to escape a pursuer, she stubbles into a snake pit and is killed. Orpheus is inconsolable, and decides to journey to the Underworld (Hades), to rescue her (from death). With the power of his song, he persuades Hades (the God of the Underworld of the same name), and Hades' wife, Persephone, to release his wife Eurydice, under the condition that Orpheus is forbidden to "look back" until they both reach the "normal life" surface. They both journey to topside, and seeing the sunlight, Orpheus looks back to see that Eurydice is following him. When he does, she's instantly drawn back the the Underworld of Hades. He lost his "true love" a second time, and in his grief, essentially "fell apart, sacrificed higher principles and moral principles, and in the end, was torn apart by the the women of Thrace.

Another proof of why Jedi are equally responsible for Anakin’s fall is the disagreement Qui Gon used to have with the Jedi council. Had he been alive to mentor Anakin…things would have turned out differently because Qui Gon’s thought process was different to the Jedi Council and more understanding towards Anakin. Hence the dual where he was killed in Episode one…or rather the music…is called Duel of the Fates…because his death changed a lot of things for the future

What a perfect reaction! Easily one of the best I've ever seen, as for a Star Wars movie or any movie in general...I could feel how genuine you were. You're so nice, sweet and adorable... You never ask stupid questions, or make stupid comments, at any moment. And yet with such simplicity, naievety, but never in a way that makes it annoying, for some reason. Because the emotions you're showing are believable and you're meaning it. With a lot of truth and honesty about yourself. I like when people don't catch or guess everything they see. You're just catched by surprise at the moments that were exactly meant for that, and I always appreciate this a lot when it happens and when it feels so honest like you do. You're never overdoing it. When you laugh, you laugh and it's quick and straight to the point without dragging it uselessly. When you smile, it just comes from sheer joy, and when you cry, it's never ugly, it's very gentle, quiet and you allow your tears, big, thick and pearly like those of a phoenix, to stream and fall all over the place (pretty sure it could turn into a puddle somewhere, actually, if these tears you shed were all fallen and focused on a same spot, but I'm digressing anyway), which combined with the rest makes it really pleasant to watch. Thank you for being yourself, just the way you are. Don't change anything. It's 10/10 for me. Great job, and mostly, great human being. Keep going, girl 👍

You might not like them or you might love them but come to that conclusion yourself rather than letting haters persuade you to not even give them a chance. I’m sure you were planning on watching them anyway, I thought I’d say this just in case.❤

to this day every time I watch this last scene or see a reaction like yours, I do have tears and it reminds me the reaction in the theatres was the same

To Stef, I know that this episode has been a real tearjerker, it’s the darkest one of this six part movie saga. But rest assured episode 6 will bring some badly needed catharsis after all this, I’m looking forward to your reaction to Return of the Jedi.

Once you've seen episode 6, I think it would be a good idea to see "the chosen one" - its a fan made cut of the most important bits ;p definently need a watch.

LOL "Flick the wrist!" (28:16), I've always thought that haha Both starwars and LOTR, loved the reactions! Subbed! Prequels were very underrated due to George's choices on dialogue, but when it comes to action, world-building, music, etc, it's a precious gem.

If you watch the clone wars tv show, it adds SO MUCH needed context and fleshing out of the characters. It makes this 100x more heartbreaking.

In my opinion, this is the second best Star Wars movie behind empire strikes back. If you watch Clone Wars, it makes those scenes with obi Wan hurt even more.
