I'm probably going to go with the Pure. I need a case with more storage. Not much but more than a shaped case.

Looking to get a rectangular case to enable music storage but not all accommodate a shoulder rest... and mine is the bulky Wolf Forte Secondo rest!! An invaluable and informative video with excellent comparisons between these 4 cases.

Hiya, two questions - Is the Gewa Polycarbonate Waterproof? You've mentioned how much flex or rigidity the cases have but I'm not actually sure which one I should be going for? What are the benefits and disadvantages of flexible vs rigid? Thanks In advance.

Hi Marjorie, thanks for the questions 🙂if you were to have a hard fall on a case that has flex in it there may be a chance your instrument will get damaged. If you pushed down on a case made entirely from condensed foam hard enough, the foam could potentially crack. The chances of this happening however are low, especially if you don't do a lot of travel. Polycarbonate won't break or flex in this instance, so if strength is your main concern then I'd go for the GEWA Pure case. No case is really waterproof, but pretty well all cases are water-resistant, which means that you're generally fine in a heavy downpour of rain. The GEWA maestro case has a small advantage here in that there is a flap that covers the zip at the top, so it's less likely that water can get through the zipper. If you're particularly worried about water penetrating your case you can get an extra rain cover to go over the top. When choosing a case, if you aren't doing heaps of travel then I'd just go with the one you like the look of most haha. Or, perhaps write down your 3 must-haves to help you make a decision. For some people weight, carry comfort and strength are most important, for others, it might be price, the ability to store sheet music and that it has to fit 4 bows. Good luck and if you have any other questions please don't hesitate to reach out.

@@sydneystringcentre thanks so much! I'm looking for a case I can ride my bike with in Melbourne where rain happens at any time so this has been really helpful! Thank you :)
