Love ur improvised emergency break! (been there, done that lol) Your creeativity has never ceased to amaze me. That road trip was breathtaking. So, at first I was confused when ur truck suddenly had an 8' camper cap on it....the sound of your voice kind of faded off while I was looking at the camper and thinking "wait a minute...that's too small to be the one I fell in love with ..the windows don't look the same "....my ears ignored u as I kept looking at how the camper fit on truck bed so perfectly....and 'sometthing just wasn't adding up"...I hit rewind and heard u say U JUST PICKED THIS 8 FOOTER UP AND NOW HAVE FREAKING 2!!! It just blows my mind each time u "stumble onto" a new treasure....AND IT KEEPS HAPPENING TO U OVER, AND OVER, AND OVER, AND OVER .....Happy for u sir!! Cheers 🍻 (You lucky SOB)
That's exactly what I want to do after high school. I'd probably have a fuel efficient car to drive around for commute or something, and a nice old 460 for a potential work/play truck
I've got a 97. Done a few mods and managed to get my average in town and/or towing mileage up from 6.5-7.5 to 8-9 Miles per gallon. Best interstate mileage was 12.5 unloaded from Butte, MT to Thompson Falls, MT. Great trucks but not for commuting. Simple, durable and reliable.
Nothing quite like driving the Crows Nest Pass. Great tip on Longview Jerky Shop, I'll be sure to check it out next time I'm out that way. But, you missed a few of other great spots. Next time you drive that highway, be sure to stop by the Cinnamon Bear Bakery & Cafe - absolutely the world's best Sticky Buns - located in Coleman, AB! Would make a great a complement to your healthy eating mix of beer, jerky and katchup chips! Another great butcher shop in the area is Back Country Butchers in Cowley, AB - quality meats and jerky for sure, and they'll process all your wild game if needed. And finally, if you've never dropped by the Hutterite Leatherworks, its the best place to buy quality gloves of all types at reasonable prices! Located near Pincher Creek, AB. And finally, if you're ever in the Pincher Creek area, the first week of January, be sure to take in the Willow Valley Trophy Clubs's annual Trophy Day - Canada's biggest "Bone's Event"! I got invited years ago by a hunting friend of mine in Pincher Creek, and attended for many years - it's truly an amazing event, and a testimony to what a bunch of farmer/Ranchers can put together for over 60 years I believe. You can check the club out at www.willowvalleytrophyclub.com You are a blessed man - two vintage Alaskan Campers, wow! Loved the video, keep the great content coming. Watching from my dream retirement cabin on the shores of Lake of the Woods, just north of Rainy River, ON! Grouse Season opens on Sept 15th, can't wait!! Will be breaking out my Filson Tincloth wear and my 20 guage vintage Citori!
Thanks for the awesome comment and info. We stuck to the Cowboy Trail and didn't have time to backtrack a bit to Cowley but definitely will check it out next time. I'm down through there quite often. Coleman is pretty quiet, most of the shops and stores are closed up it seems. Good luck on the hunt and keep us posted on getting those chickens 👍👍🍻🍻
The Frank slide is just crazy to imagine. Over 100 million tones of limestone came down that mountain in 90 seconds. That place gives me serious bad vibes too because of all the dead under the rubble. Graveyards or other supposed haunted places don’t bother me but that place does. Last time I was there I think I last maybe 30 minutes before I needed to leave.
Hey Sheldon, yes it's pretty creepy for sure. At that time of the year it was when it happened it would have been dark outside too. Pretty nasty. Maybe I should Camp over there and see if it gets sketchy LOL
Hey Jimmie, another cool video of your adventures! Just too funny...Doritos are your vegetables! LOL! Getting 12 mpg with that beast isn't too bad...especially for what you got...lots more room to enjoy your camping trips. Air Quality here in CA sucks...the wildfires have been the worst...thinking of heading to Colorado just to breathe some fresh air and check out the fall colors! Thanks again for doing these videos...enjoy so much watching your trips. Hey, you should become a music score composer for the movie industry...your musical scores are spot on!
Wow, thank you Steve. Much appreciated! Definitely a smoky summer here. July was nasty but the last few weeks have been pretty clear. We'll see how this trip goes, going to take a different routes on the way back. Thanks again for the awesome comments Steve. 🍻🍻
Nice road trip there JM. Looks like a cool camper that you picked up. If anything, I bet just getting the jerky was worth it. Thanks for sharing and ATB Mike
I read that video title as OBS Ford 460 (miles per gallon capable) MPG Road trip! hahaha just for a second. If you dont know your Ford's you'd be forgiven for thinking this is some highly modded new engine swap with insane fuel economy.
LOL. Thanks for the comment. I was actually surprised that it did that well. There was some serious elevation gains we had to climb and of course the 460 pulles beautifully 🍻🍻
One more thing...you still manage to include a 4Runner cameo...I'm still dreaming of getting one, but the dealers down here are just tacking on thousands on top of the MSRP...maybe by this time next year things will settle down.
The car thing is definitely nuts. I paid 54,000 for mine Canadian three and a half years ago. I have a hundred and ten thousand kilometres on it right now and can easily get 48k for it. Interesting times for sure
Love seeing these old trucks! In a little bit I’m gonna attempt to bring my 95 f350 with a 460 all the way from PA to WY. She’s my old welding rig, loaded up with a classic 2 bottles and all. Probably about 3k pound. I seem to get about 12mpg loaded or un-loaded. Is the f250 better or worse than the 1 ton you think?
The US and Canada is getting pretty bad as well. US is at about 6 dollars US a gallon, and here in Canada, where we are about the same at 1.75 Canadian dollars to a litre 😳
Hi Harold. Yes I've been thinking about that for sure. But I'd also would like a roof rack above the truck cab, hmmm. My wife and I have been mulling it over. The 10 Footers bed is so huge compared to this 8-footer. 4 ft wide on the 8 foot and a 6ft wide bed on the 10.
You’re in Canada and not subject to California’s and the US’ EPA C.A.R.B. laws. Why are you not using Scepter’s MFCs (made in Canada)? I have garnered a collection for my gas and diesel, and wouldn’t part with them; nor my 45-70! 😂
@@JimmyMeatwhistle Thanks. I've heard these 92-96 F series are great trucks and for college, daily driving, and road trips they sound great. Of course I wouldn't mind doing work on them either.
AT 55 I WILL EXPLAIN THIS AS NICE AS I CAN(OWNER OF 2 96/7 F350S)YOU NOW OWN A CLYDESDALE NOT A PINTO....THESE GIRLS WERE NEVER MADE FOR FUEL MILEAGE .JUST FOR PULLING
