You are so appreciated Scott. Your energy is infectious and you just seem like the nicest guy. Thanks for being you and giving us this awesome content on the regular
You have some big "cool dad" vibes on you, I had to say this beforehand. Great vid, after some experimentation and tweaking, it's working just as intended. Thanks!
I gave this video a like and subscribed just for the pure fact he knew about the CTRL+F thing. I was waiting for the ''ok let's resize this now, ugh.... one sec guys.... *2 hours later* alright so now you got that on the screen" lol. The fact he knew ctrl+f is an instant W from me. Also great effect, thank you!
Exeldro is an amazing software creator! I am always grateful that he creates his software that follows the typical install format. When things need to be installed in other ways I am not comfortable with it. He is da boss! And you are da boss too Scott Fichter in the way you do your tutorials. Your graphics, humor and everything! Oh! And I am also grateful to those who created OBS. Each day something new comes out that makes it able to do even more stuff! Love it!
Jeesus man you make amazing tutorials, just sometimes i feel lack of the obvious demonstration how cool each feature could be that you show. Although, those who are smart and openminded enough, will get everything even from here, so, again, thanks for your cool videos, man!
Thx for this very interesting tutorial Scott. It's amazing !!! I'm looking to add stage lighting to my virtual scenes. Think this one is a very good first step.
Great video. Very helpful 👍. Do you have a suggestion for video editing software. Openshot editor gives me issues if a video is longer than 35 minutes.
How much power does your computer have? Are you on a desktop PC with some ram? How powerful is your CPU? If you have a solid computer Davinci Resolve is amazing. The learning curve is steep but the payoff is huge and it's 100% free. If you have money, Filmora is excellent. I use Camtasia.
@@ScottFichter your always so helpful. Thank you because you always respond and point out what to look for. Yes I use a Lenovo desktop , it's limited. I'll check that out thanks again.
Looks great!! I found that mixing move and 3d transition is really fantastic!! And as you've done in this video...if you use a small vid in the middle of the transition...using Green screen you can simulate the cam going round you...tales time but the effect is really cool. I think you've changed your mic!! Watch out for White noise and mod Range peaking. My vid was rubbish when Itried to explain...sorry...but I am really busy.
Thank you for the tutorial, but when I change the Action to anything other than transform, the rest of the menu fails to work. None of the dropdowns appear, and though I am able to type into Source and Filter, the setting button will simply not respond. Obs and the plugin are up to date, and I have tried reinstalling it multiple times, if anybody has had a similar issue pls explain
@@ScottFichter Thanks for replying! So I got it working on one image. I made a new desktop audio source and simply copy/pasted the filters you suggested for the source song file I followed your tutorial on, to the desktop audio source. Basically, I thought the lights would react to any music/audio I'd be listening to, say in Groove music etc. So I was like Ah, it has to be individual audio sources. But nope, works just as you showed, with all audio I have selected. It's probably a 'Duh of course it would" moment lol, but yea many thanks for this! You make learning fun!
i tried downloading, unfortunately i cant get it to work, i used the installer. the demo is fantastic, but the program seems to not be working and i have full up to date software. /o\
@9:05 you said to use Peak True. I disagree and would pick Peak Sample, it is easier on your CPU resources. True Peak is rarely needed in "every day end user" use - it's more used for Engineering, Mastering, or Scientific Use. Peak Sample is easier for a CPU - it actually doesn't have to calculate anything it just "reads it", Peak True has to be calculated by trying to figure what the analog signal would be like if played out a speaker, while Peak Sample just uses the digital values which is extremely close to the analog anyway - kind of like just rounding off a few digits of accuracy.
@@ScottFichter I'm on twitch but still working on my first youtube video, which is why I'm subbed to you! I plan on focusing on Audio for OBS and other topics for DJs and Producers.
@@ianjohnson3546 Looking forward to it bro. YES! Great idea on providing info for DJs. There is an audience for you and you're channel will grow fairly fast with that category.
is there a plug in that will do this with audio output rather than with a media source? for example if i want this effect while playing music from youtube.
@@ScottFichter so it does work! but it radically changes how the image looks. the colors look much darker. i will play around with settings to see it if i can get it back. thank you so much for responding. i love your channel.
Hi Scott - thanks again for a great video. Might it be worth adding useful links to the description ? Because they weren't there, I brought up another browser and *listened* to you say the website as I typed, but as you already know, you mis-pronounced it, so I went to the wrong place.
Oh so your sharing the graphic in other scenes? Make a copy of the image and rename it then bring it in as a separate image source. that way the other source won't be effected. This statement is based on an assumption that I understand your problem.
@@ScottFichter right , i forgot you used an image in your tutorial.. context required, i suppose? lol i wanted to do a live lighting effect so i created a scene with a camera source, added a clip of music and added the colour correction to the webcam, which works great, but it applied the colour correction to all instances of that camera across obs
is there a way to do this with just the brightness and not colours to do a strobe light effect? i tried using brightness instead of hue shift and obs crashed
That's a good question DC. The answer is that it depends on you. If you are a DJ and you're gonna do a live show and you want to do something like this in the background than yes. If you plan on making a countdown timer or equivalent then no.
