Looking at what Christian does here, many people will have a hard time to learn those tabs, because of huge amount of tears dropping constantly and involuntary.
Exactly, he has been in Necrophagist, Obscura, and for me in the best Spawn of Possesion album, Incurso. And have done a lot of collabs with bands like Gorod, First Fragment... He is pretty underrated :(
The most "trademark" thing of his, to me, is his legato + tapping.. he can make such looong asc-/descending runs, filling in a ton of notes without touching the pick!
@@ICANSEEDEADHORIZONS I think it's both magic glove and power of having letter ü in the last the name. Well, and thousands of hours of practice, always forget about that minor detail 😀
@@Александр-ф6в9э it’s probably likely, most bands do these days. Here it’s just the audio from the album, not his playing in the video. I have no doubts he can play this, but maybe not that squeaky clean.
This guy next to Justin McKinney is like the unsung hero of technical death metal. Played in Spawn of Possession, Necrophagist, and now Obscura? Dude's a fucking legend.
Chris' playing on Cosmogenesis changed my approach to guitar. I've been a fan of everything he touches since then. And he just keeps getting better, incredible.
Я позже на Obscura с Крисом попал. Через Necrophagist в 2020. Так бывает. И тоже полное переформатирование. Я счастлив, что в моём времени есть такой композитор! ✊
I wished i could sell my soul for these guitar skills but sadly i am a redhead. On a more serious note this makes me happy. Happy that there is a new album, happy that Christian is back and happy that he found a way to still play guitar on a top master level despite the condition. If you read this Christian: you rock, i wish you tons of guitar related fun that is not spoiled by the condition.
I just saw Obscura last night in Calgary and I was at the front not even two feet away from Christian and I was absolutely blown away when Solaris was being played and whenever he would play a lead. Truly inspiring
Such a sick player and sick song! And can we talk about how on point those sweeps are with the rhythm of the double bass at 0:54, 1:58, and 3:28?? just mind blowing how they can keep in sync with each other so cleanly like that 🤯
Brilliant is an understatement, the riffing is mind-blowing. His ability to cleanly switch between down-picks, up-picks and alternates, plus sweeps in a superbly seamless fashion is incredible.
Been listening since these guys since 2010. Love how they can write play so many things; full-on (neo)classical, death metal, jazz, or even give techdeath a really ethereal sunday chill vibe like the song Akroasis. Truly outstanding musicians!
Christian is the best guitar player probably in all history just because he manages to encompass all the evolution of the instrument in his compositions I mean... For real we guitar players should learn the way he did is the pinnacle of guitar 😮😮😮
Loving the sonics of this record (along with the crushing riffs I've heard so far). So crisp and clear with a #savage low end. 😏 Can clearly hear everything going on. 👊 Great playthrough Christian!
Wow. I keep typing about how he does something sick and then I delete it because I see something better I want to mention… every aspect is sick. His right hand looked about as loose as my mom after her divorce. Phenomenal
I've been waiting for it since the song was released. It's very awesome!! Your technique is unique and so much clean. I feel good to see that your left hand is working on progress. Keep doing it!! 🤘🏼
Easy to be clean when you're miming to the cleaned-up and time-aligned studio recording. Not to downplay his incredible talent, but he's not playing the song live in this video.
@@pickboy7 Oh, absolutely. I'd probably never be able to play this with ten fingers on each hand. I'm just not sure people know what they're getting when they watch this video. It's a bit like seeing an expertly Photoshopped photo and thinking it's completely real and natural. Maybe he can do it live with this precision, I don't know. Maybe he could if it wasn't for his affliction. He's an amazing player, though. And by the way, Focal Dystopia is totally going to be the name of my next band.
