That part is literally the reason why I decided on watching the show actually! I kept seeing that video/meme everywhere and I would bust out laughing EVERY single time. It's officially now one of my favorite shows of all times.
That felt incredibly hilarious and close to home, as, a week before I had watched that episode, my hairdresser accidentally fucked up my haircut, and, even though I tried to be nice and to contain myself the best that I could, he knew I was pissed. I had to shave my head. What's funnier is, it's been a few months, and I've gone back to him a week ago to do the same haircut because I don't know anyone else who can. Fleabag's "see you later" was spot on - you can get pissed at your hairdresser all you want, but, unless you have a better option, you risk losing them forever 😅
When Anthony said "If you want to change your life change your life, it's not gonna happen in here" it hit me like a ton of bricks because I had just chopped off all my hair in a moment of desperation a couple of weeks before that episode came out oofff Phoebe is an excellent writer.
as a hairstylist i felt for Anthony in that moment ill have clients come in who go "oh i dont know what i want, i just wanna do something different" or worse bring in a reference picture of something that wont work for them
@@irene4692 It's because he wants to be the man sleeping with her, he sexually assaults her in S2 I think (and her damned sister doesn't want to believe it - how can anyone like Claire!?). I loved the quick expression change, from gleeful retort to wide-eyed, quick-exiting blunder.
Claire is the representation that being all correct and poise as society want us doesn't make life any easier that the ones living on the edge. So relatable. Love her.
She did kind of look like a pencil. Whenever you sharpen a pencil, one side always has a bit longer...... Graphite?? They don't put lead in pencils. Also, I loved you in 'Multiplicity', genius. And 'Beetlejuice', so funny and irreverent. Thank you for your work Mr Keaton.
Omg now I got it! I thought she said that because the rubber on pencil usually get duller as you use it, which would make the round shape that is Claire's hair in the scene 😂@@kristenbenser2168
It's funny because I pretty much watched all of these youtube compilations before I started watching the show. Only then did I realize how tightly packed it is with iconic scenes and moments
@@oliviacharleston8555 Sherlock was the first thing I ever saw him in actually. I love that show. The idiot writers however made the fatal mistake of killing him off after barely two episodes and then, when they realised he was the best thing about the whole show, spent all their time trying to figure out ways to bring him back. "I'm soooooo CHANGEABLE"!! 😂 I've binged just about everything he's ever been in and I can't WAIT for "Ripley" to come out. You could say I'm just a little bit obsessed with him...😍
My favorite "obscure " funny line in the series is in Season 2 Episode 5 when Fleabag is trying to get rid of the lawyer after the priest turns up. Fleabag: "My priest is here and I think he needs some spiritual guidance" Lawyer: "What? Is he alright?" Fleabag: "No, I'm hoping he's having an emotional crisis".
Luckily, you don't have to. It's incredibly obvious to anyone that's seen it. For those who haven't, there's time. For anyone that didn't like it, there's a special place in hell.
Claire saying, "Show her the reference!" like it's going to be some kind of finishing blow, but instead only proves that Antony gave her exactly the haircut she asked for.
3:55 that "I'm baaack. . ." is one of the funniest moments in the show and truly a underrated sound engineering feat; he both sounds muffled but crystal clear and just resonates into the scene with such a perfect elongated pitch that just echoes its presence in the comedic tension so perfectly and the bit of silence that follows in orginal scene only tops it.
i love when martin says "i would never hurt the guinea pig I'm not a monster" because in PWB's one woman play fleabag kills hilary and the BBC thought it was too much for the tv show
Its when they both confronted anthony for the bad haircut and then the picture proves it to them that he is on the clear, she said "sorry anthony, see you next week." Floored me every time 🤣🤣🤣
when the small monologue starts at the salon, it starts to feel like it's setting up for a joke because it's like "ha what do you _mean_ hair isn't everything lol" but it slowly turns into like "yeah as women we are forced to believe that our hair is sacred and depending on it's length or thickness it can impact how we're treated in life" every time I hear it I get chills. I get reminded of the documentaries I've seen where women have to shave their heads to sell their hair as a way of making ends meet or women being kidnapped so their hair can literally be stolen.
I really love when they’re at the retreat and fleabag says “it’s very simple, WE pay THEM to let us clean their house in silence” and claire starts laughing😂
C: "DON'T LIE!" F: "IT'S FRENCH!" C: ~stunned silence~ There it is, my favorite exchange between the sisters. It makes me roll with laughter every time.
I wasn’t sure most of the way through the first series but the relationship between the sisters kept me watching. Particularly liked the bit where Claire says she can’t leave because of her ‘broken little sister’.
THANK YOU. Amongst all the amazing lines and scenes etc in this amazing series, the stupidest little moment that sticks with me and absolutely sends me is "Where's Claire?" 🤣
When she tells Claire she's dating a priest, Claire's probably thinking, "My god, you're so self-pitying, you found the one man for whom it is literally a *sin* to love you. Bravo. You take self-deprecation to a new level."
I thought it was convenient for Fleabag and Claire to sit so behind at their dad's wedding, so Claire could leave without many people noticing. But of course, Godmother with seat them there.
Recently I went to the salon and got a reeeally bad haircut and color. I was really upset until my sister showed me the pencil scene again and strangely it made me feel a lot better, truly iconic
It’s missing from the Anthony scene but his reply "If you want to change your life, change your life. It isn't going to happen in here." is fucking brilliant too
Greatest mystery that will never be answered. "mmm...He kept the pinny?". I was hoping there would be a season 3 so she'd end up with the account after he returns it. I just felt they had a connection and he was looking for a reason to see her again. He kept popping up, thought he'd say his wife wouldn't take him back.
