I was a fan of dnb right at the end of the ps1 era if you need suggestions i have many!!! this console helped shape my love of dance music along with my sadly long past mother
To unlock the secret character in Burstrick Wake Boarding you must first boot the game (duh), while on the title screen, hold L1 and R1 and enter the Konami code. Afterwards, turn off the console end eject the disc. Proceed to store the disc in a drawer somewhere. Finally, go outside and touch grass. To fully 100% your save, simply give your Nan a call, she'd like that
For someone who’s been on RU-vid for a year or so (judging by the first upload date) this is legitmately some of the best scripted and produced content I watch. And quite honestly from the first upload there’s been a ridiculously high production level! Also love the way I actually find things I haven’t heard of!
I had a copy of Incredible Crisis in a random batch of PS1 games I bought from a car boot sale. It was pure WTF in a PS1 disc, glad to see it get some love here!
Colony Wars! I played through that entire game when I was younger and could never find it cuz I couldn't remember the damn name. Thanks for mentioning it!
Man this series is such a journey, I thought I had a lot of ps1 games, but there are so many that I've never even heard of, thanks for doing this mate, it's awesome!
Blast Radius was a demo game for me, it was on that demo disc that had Abe's Exoddus, B-Movie and that Net Yaroze maze game with the zombies. I miss demo discs, playstation magazine was peak entertainment.
Finally wheel landed on Incredible Crisis. This game has such meme potential, and would be more appreciated nowadays. I've heard of Colony Ship, but this is the first time I've seen its footage. It reminds me of PC space sims...
... I can't believe you made me to want to try Burstrick Wake Boarding. Thanks for that. ;-P Also, I ALWAYS get Blast Radius mixed up with Omega Boost (which I noticed is also on the wheel; Praise the Wheel). I love Omega Boost, not just because it's a 3D arcade-style anti-grav shooter made by Polyphony, but because the story for the game is so wonderfully ludicrous!
Look I was the last person expecting a wake boarding game to win me over, but times are crazy! I've wanted to try Omega Boost for a long time, of all the games I want the wheel to land it it's near the top. ...i know I could just play it at any time, but I'm in too deep with the wheel now. Gotta follow the path.
Oh lord, Incredible Crisis looks so fun. A friend of mine has streamed it multiple times and it never gets old! The other two look fun as well! I think I've got a disc lying around for Blast Radius so might be good to warm up if I ever get around to Colony Wars. Awesome vid!
Man Incredible Crisis would work so well for a stream, it's the perfect length. Some decent games this time around, the wheel was kind! Appreciate you watching :)
Think I've officially worked my way through your entire library! Easily one of my fave RU-vidrs. Keep the amazing PS1 nostalgia & hidden gems coming! Nobody does it better 👍 PS. I'm not sure how recommendations are made for the wheel, but I'd love to see some Deathtrap Dungeon on there.
I swear I played colony wars once when I was 8 at one of those recreation centers for kids at the shopping mall. Never found what game it was until recently, and I might pick up after I cull down a bit of the backlog
Can I make a suggestion for this wonderful series? Maybe you could try fitting one or two more games in one video, leaving outside some minor or unimportant details from other games and still retaining the same video length. Would love to see more games in just one video!
Thanks for the comment! Absolutely, the more games I can fit into a video the better really. The three-game limit is currently just due to work/life balance so I can get the videos out at a steady pace, but I do want to work at tailoring down and trimming the fat from the scripts so to speak. It's something I'll get better with over time, but don't worry you're not the only one who would love to see more games per video, so it's something I'm keeping in mind for sure :)
I used to always see images and press stuff for it magazines back in the day but never knew anybody who played it before, so it was a treat getting to try it for the first time all these years later.
I just found your channel through this series, your videos are so comfy. I figured it would make for a good watch in the background while I do my daily drawing but I end up too distracted to do any drawing lol. I loved your other videos that I've tried too, it's unbelievable how high quality your content is, and even more that you somehow haven't blown up. I subscribed at least, I'm looking forward to future videos from you, keep up the steller work guy
These are very good. I love PS1 graphics and the crazy variety of games. The low res jaggies and constant texture warping. It is an unmistakable look. One of the last platforms that required a bit of imagination to see what the developers had in mind. That might not be for everyone of course. But these well scripted, well edited videos show the oddities on the console in the best way possible.
The only music genre to rival ska in true happiness is happy hardcore. It's no coincidence I love both genres. As someone who listened to Superman by Goldfinger on repeat the last time I played the Tony Hawk 1 + 2 remakes, I'll def be checking out Incredible Crisis. Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra's cover of the Tetris theme is amazing.
The second one to make the Must Play? I'm sure I've been going through all your videos chronologically and this was the first I saw...hmm. Must be losing my mind haha
Commenting just based on the spalsh image: INCREDIBLE CRISIIIIIIS! Super game that as I kid could nit ubderstand but funished as an adult, super japanese style that widened my horizons. I bring it up when people say that wario ware invented minigame collections. Moreover, I did not understand english very well at the time since I was 10, so I remember being eternally stuck on the ambulance section in the game's demo version and deciding to get it only after I committed enough answers to memory in order to complete it.
Holy shit burstrick was a game I don’t vividly remember but I remember the visuals enough to have a very clear picture in my head specifically of the level where the sun is setting. I remember just doing trick mode on that stage just for the vibes and music alone. I finished it multiple times somehow and iirc that’s how you unlock the last character I’d love to go back and play it again but I lost my copy ages ago but what a blast from the past. I don’t think I could ever forget about that announcer though lol
It's still kinda weird to think of Incredible Crisis as an obscure game, because it was a huge hit in my middle school at the time. The 15+ nerds in our grade couldn't get enough of it, and it was a staple of sleepovers and after-school hangouts for almost 2 years.
I discovered your channel recently, and I like your shows! Unfortunately, it seems RU-vid is throttling all your older episodes. I have to rip the episodes and download them first so it won't pause every 5 seconds for no good reason.
Gotta follow the ladies instructions so you can guide your hands to correct spot. Just imagine you were giving a real massage on a ferris wheel and it should all come together ;)
@@SeanSeanson bro I was playing in front of my gf and she’s like what the hell are you playing. I just felt that it was like as soon as I found the spot it was too many touches and I’ve not got the bar even filled
Do you consider Colony Wars 1-3 to be better than Wing Commander III on the Playstation? While I loved Colony Wars I myself think Wing Commander III takes the win. The production values were so far beyond what anyone had ever seen before and the voice work set the standard for gaming. Lastly, Wing Commander's graphics I thought were better than the first two Colony Wars and easily rivaled the 3rd. Addendum- I know you only briefly spoke about Colony Wars and it is off topic. I just really want to know what you think.
Funnily enough I'm to actually sit down and play a Wing Commander title. Although I have watched a few videos about the series in the past and it seems like something I'd really enjoy, plus like you said the production values are above and beyond for the era.
Hey Sean, love your videos! I was similarly annoyed with BursTrick's frame rate but if youemulate it using RetroArch PCSX-Re-Armed, you can run it a a faster framerate. I think it breaks the jump button but the rest of the controls are fine and it runs at 60fps
Oh wow, thank you! That's very humbling ☺️ Honestly it's not even something I considered. I've been kinda just winging it and trying to improve until I reach the big 1K subs milestone and then I figured I'd plan out things a little more seriously. Tell you what, hang on to your hard earned cash for now and if you're still watching what I'm putting out when I've got everything set up, I'll try make supporting me on patron worth your while! For now just seeing supportive comments like this motivates me to keep going forward, so it's more than enough! Thank you ^^
Not a persona fan eh? People have told me they like those tracks, but It's OK I've built up a massive folder for BGM so I'll keep it rotating in future.
@@SeanSeanson oh i like Persona and smt, but like, no offense, but you repeat a lot of the same tracks. I'd try and use two or three different pieces per segement
