@@caaliber115 Well, the one in the intro sequence wouldn't be in any way catchable, so you'd just be forced to look at a shiny that you can't get. Also, shinies are in no way different from their regular counterparts. They're just incredibly rare and look different. Like a foil trading card.

Pokémon Black, White, and their sequels sold a combined total of over 24,000,000 copies. Shiny Pokémon appear in about 1/8192. Assuming everybody who got their copy of the game at least started it, that means that about 2,500 people just naturally got a shiny intro Pokémon when they first started the game... and probably wouldn't have figured the fact that it was shiny...

It's also possible for the Poochyena that attacks Birch at the start of Ruby/Sapphire to be shiny. It happened to me... So Wally's Ralts isn't the earliest example.

I remember my old copy of Pokémon Gold version where my odd egg hatched a shiny Elekid. I had the preconceived notion that like the Red Gyarados, the odd egg forcibly gave you a shiny. If only I had known I got super lucky, I might have actually raised an Electabuzz. Also, I ran across a shiny Wobbafett in Ruby version, but it was a safari zone nightmare and I failed to catch it. I died a little on the inside that day.

That fact about Wallys Ralt being shiny, but not shiny throughout the game can also happen in Pokémon Y. It happened too me when Serena caught a shiny Flecthinder, but it wasn't shiny in any other encounter.

Did you know, that Pokemon franchise could possibly take place in same universe as Mother series? And it is in fact quite probable considering that Ape/Creatures are one of founders of Pokemon Company, and especially after introduction of Ultra Space..

@@TheRezro While that is technically possible (and it would be awesome if true), I don't see anything supporting this theory other than Ultra Space connecting dimensions. Odds are given the fact that Itoi is done with the Mother series until further notice, we won't get any word on a theory like this any time soon.

@@WishMakers Yes, the Itoi who is member of Hal Laboratory. There is numerous reasons why Mother franchise is dead, and I don't see point in explaining them. But simple fact is that there is many references to Mother is "Pokeymon" games, and generally they become more and more transparent about that recently, especially when continuation of Mother is extremely unlikely. Do you want some examples? Or we end on reminding that I said "possibly"? One thing though. For some reason people forget that invaders from Mother were in fact interdimensional, not extraterrestrial. I just saying that people from Ultra Space resemble Starman's after all. Did I mention that Sargent Surge is American?

Minor fact: in RSE, it’s not just the Wally capture scene where you encounter uncatchable shinies. The trainers you fight also have a chance to have their pokemon to be shiny. It was only once, but I ran into a hiker who had a shiny Graveler. In all likelihood, trainer battles are probably considered to be the same as wild encounters but with additional rules in these games, which allows this.

Catherine's unused Pokemon track was probably a composition that Shoji Meguro made in his free time, that he likely let the development team use to test the engine's music playback. Still pretty awesome to hear a track from one game composed in the established style of another game composer though.

When I was playing pokemon blue for my gameboy color (both of which have been sadly MIA for quite some time), i had a starmie as one of my pokemon. I brought it out into battle once and it's back sprite was that of a wartortle's. I checked my pokedex but it said i never had a wartortle, and every time i brought my starmie back into battle it would still have the wartortle sprite, no matter if i switched pokemon or if i turned off the game, and I've never seen or heard of anyone else talk about or experience this ever
