Very informative, thank you! I just ordered an inexpensive Baader solar filter. I'm very new to telescopes / imaging, so I'm glad I watched this before it arrived. I was naively thinking I would be taking pics like you see from the hydrogen-alpha filter on the left. This will still be a lot of fun to play around with, though. :)

Yep, still nice to see the surface granulation and all the sunspot detail with the sun getting very active now.

I use a much smaller aperture for solar observing that being my little 25mm Pocket Borg refractor and Baader Solar film.I might look into one of those solar wedges popping it in instead of the star diagonal.

Hi what filter do you use on the eyepiece I noticed you had one fitted to the eyepiece using the 60mm refractor.

I usually have a neutral density filter and/or a polarizing filter to further cut down on brightness so it is more comfortable and details are easier to see.
