*Hoarding: letting your stuff rot. Collecting: making a home for your items in an organized manner and displaying them to their full potential* ❤️❤️ *Once someone realizes that, it's easy to see that it's not giving your things love. I usually see that it's a person not caring for themselves physically or mentally (or both) if their stuff is uncared for.*

David's racing planes - he had to hurry to catch a flight once. David's racing cars - going over the speed limit. David's racing boats - drove one once and the owner said slow down, there's a branch. David's archeology, astronomy and astrophysics - paying to attend workshops on the subject once a year. David's law degree - watching Judge Judy marathons. David's P.I experience - light stalking. David's health issues - over weight and lazy.

😂Hilarious. After watching a documentary about hoarded homes and consumerism, I have learned that the stress hormone levels are elevated from the anxiety created by accumulated items in a home. Wouldn't it be interesting to see how hoarding is connected to health issues.

Glenn needed a partner with him to tackle David's place. David made excuse after excuse and bad-mouthed Glenn, who took time out of his own life to help. I play these episodes in the middle of the night when I can't sleep. Last night, I cleaned out my armoire and donated two whole trash bags to charity. The garage is next! TY

Don't, he's a jerk. He holds on to remnants of what others have done, because he's done nothing and has nothing to show. The hotel is a great start (didn't he inherit that); now, he has a chance to make something of it. He could have a room of his artifacts, store the rest; and then could switch out his "exhibit" monthly. Glen would be a great one to hire for that.

You want to hear a sad story. The Children of Florence Ballard Of The Supremes (1943-1976), lived in the House after she got $50,000.00 US Funds in 1975 which by today's standards is between $275.000.000 and $300.000.00. They didn't manage the upkeep, had to take out a second mortgage, and lost the house. If tha weren't bad enough, they took old memorabillia from the House and are reported to be Homeless as well. They play the Motown did Momma wrong card conveniently forgetting that the children of other celebrities from the Temptations to Marvin Gaye came out of their parents celebrity broke due to addictions and non payment of taxes.

This is where OCD meets the other side of the spectrum and not make sense. She's said she's got a thing about the way she looks. If someone is like that, the look wins. I think I was like that for a while, but it was due to some insecurities. These days I can still feel off, but I'd rather have my hair up 😂

Hail to the balls of steel Glen! Glen is wonderful; with love, I suggest that Glen please cook, for health ( the benefits are reaped in old age). Meatless dishes are a breeze to clean! The other guy...I tend to doubt he's hired anyone; certainly, not better than Glen. If I was the friend, I would lose him, after his ungrateful atitude towards Glen. Different personalities, yes; and trying to insinuate that Glen was a problem. Disgusting, in and out. Sarcasm is a crutch here. I'm new to the show, love the concept of teaming up the opposites, and in the episodes I've watched, both sides see the issues of their opposite, and even learn a little to apply to their life! Good job.

As soon as Zahra attacked the boys' room, I felt sick. Just because e.g. she feels uncomfortable about the lovely collection of stickers on the wall (not clutter, but personality!), she decides to rip it all off, no possibility of objecting at all for the boys. I would've been extremely upset as a kid!! My heart always goes out to all the kids (on both ends). I really do hope her daughter has become a healthy little rebel, breaking the showroom cycle. Because from what they share, it's obvious that Zahra went through a similar kind of hellish trauma with her own mum. So yeah, as motivating as this show is, it makes me sad for the kids.

I feel so bad for Glen. While he's taking time out of his life to help David, while David openly ridicules Glen and complains about the whole thing. David asked for this and he doesnt show any concern or appreciation until a few moments at the end that is canceled out by all his previous comments imo 😢 hes so disrespectful to Glen while Glen does disgusting jobs and David wipes a countertop, and Glen comes back multiple days to a disrespectful and unappreciative person.. If David does have physical limitstions that doesnt make it impossible for him to provide guidance, make hard decisions, or be appreciative...

A Fiji Mermaid was an old carnival or sideshow attraction. They made them from fish and monkeys- sometimes other critters- and then set them up in a room where you had to pay a small fee to go inside and see it. It only bears the name of Fiji bc that’s part of the back story- the original “mermaid” was said to have been “caught” off the coast of Fiji.

If david were to pass away, nobody would want the junk, and it would make selling the property very hard. Likely almost everything inside would be hailed away to the landfill even if there are some expensive and unique items here and there. Nobodys gonna wanna slowly go through it all and treasure hunt. He really should have let Glenn do his thing.

Yup. My father was a hoarder and he passed away in December 2022. It was very sad because it took several weeks to clear out the hoard. The home was so cluttered inside and out and it hadn't been maintained. The "investors" offered much less than the worth. But positive, we were able to finally clean it out and remember what it looked like before.

I'm confused 🤔... In this segment Zahra spends the rest of her day after work cleaning. Yet, on the segment she appeared with Hailey she says she only cleans to do quick cleaning and doesn't spend all day.... Sounds like producer shenanigans.

Hoarders have great difficulty in looking at what to keep and what to get rid of. Items that accumulate will cost you money to acquire, cost you money to maintain and cost you money to get rid of.
