Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is a mental disorder in which a person has certain thoughts repeatedly (called "obsessions") or feels the need to perform certain routines repeatedly (called "compulsions") to an extent which generates distress or impairs general functioning.[1][2] The person is unable to control either the thoughts or activities for more than a short period of time.[1] Common compulsions include hand washing, counting of things, and checking to see if a door is locked.[1] These activities occur to such a degree that the person's daily life is negatively affected,[1] often taking up more than an hour a day.[2] Most adults realize that the behaviors do not make sense.[1] The condition is associated with tics, anxiety disorder, and an increased risk of suicide.[2][3]
The cause is unknown.[1] There appear to be some genetic components, with both identical twins more often affected than both non-identical twins.[2] Risk factors include a history of child abuse or other stress-inducing event.[2] Some cases have been documented to occur following infections.[2] The diagnosis is based on the symptoms and requires ruling out other drug-related or medical causes.[2] Rating scales such as the Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale (Y-BOCS) can be used to assess the severity.[7] Other disorders with similar symptoms include anxiety disorder, major depressive disorder, eating disorders, tic disorders, and obsessive-compulsive personality disorder.[2]

I have had OCD since childhood ... I'm now 22 and it has gotten a little better but it's definitely there... I need to check the oven multiple times... Check the door million times before going to sleep.. Check that all four of my little dogs are there in the house... Count in fives fours twos... Organize everything. It literally kills me how all the members in my family are being super chill and unorganized and I literally can not even rest until I make things sure. Washing my hands billion times and there was a time when I was crying everyday bcz I got this fear of germs on anything. Overcoming the germ fear was the hardest for me. It's not completely gone though. I still need to touch everything in a certain way until it feels right. Look at certain things. My family doesn't understand this. My siblings make fun of it... But it's ok... I'm doing fine and YOU 🌺🌻🌹🌷 yes YOU will be great soon too... Just know that you're definitely not alone. You have a beautiful life ahead... OCD is not your life. You are so much more than this ❤ you are beautiful💖 God bless you🌺🌻🌹🌷

Same happened with me i am 15 now , when i was 13 i also washed my several times and i also felt that germs will affect me i was very depressed i told to my brother about this but he didn't cared😔

Simply said one type is where you feel strongly that something bad and feared, for example your dog dying, will happen if you don’t make a certain movement, such as twitching or some other movement, and you may know that it won’t happen by eye, but you have a strong feeling that it will happen.

I'm not sure if its ocd, but a year ago I literally have to repeat my actions like a hundred times. When I touch something, I have to do it again and again until I felt it's ok to stop. There was a time that I felt like crying because I just couldn't stop, it felt like a never ending mission that you must accomplish. But gladly I'm ok now, I just have to count less than 10 😌. I'm not sure if I have social anxiety, maybe not, but being self conscious, mindful of what people think, made me stop to do those things because it felt like everyone would think I'm weird

I tap my right pointer finger and thumb at a quicker pace, and at the same time, I tap my left pointer finger and thumb at a slower pace. I do this when I'm stressed, and it's gotten so repetitive. I've tried to stop it, but it does feel like a mission most of the time. I was in the car once driving home from the airport, and I couldn't get my neck to feel a certain way, so I was crying and it was terrible. What was worst though, was that my family didn't understand, cause their not in my head with me. just remember, your not alone! your so strong, and I wish you the best!

great video sir. I have a similar issue. I have been good in academics from my school days. I am engineering graduate now but a thought keep on haunting me..and i cannot do anything about it. When i was giving my engineering entrance exam, i scored well in it , the result came online and we use to get formal scorecard through post. That score card never came, due to postal issue, while taking admission they considered my online score card and also verified my other credentials and they gave admission , but in my admission slip they wrote that he does not have original score card(that was suppose to come.through post). He also said me whenever it comes submit it in college. That never came and i graduated from that college with good grades. Now i am working in a reputed firm and earning well, but i always fear that what if my college asks about that document, which i cannot produce now since its beyond my control. I have done nothing wrong but still this fear never goes.

When I was around 10 years old, I moved states, this was around the time I started developing "OCD tendancies". It was like I was scared and paranoid in a new place so I created a set of rules to keep myself safe. I couldnt eat an entire piece of food, I always had to save a little piece and set it aside. I couldnt sit in a chair without putting my jacket over it. I couldnt touch things others had recently touched without sanitizing it. My mom recognized this behavior and as a psychologist recognized what may be causing it. She showed me the classic image for OCD, the whole "obsessive thought, compulsion, temporsry relief, back to obsessive thought ect." She made me unlearn a lot through exposure to it over and over and it did get better! I still have the "dont eat the entire piece of food" and "dont touch something someone else previouly touched". But i dont need my jacket to sit in seats, it does bug me if i visually see someone had been sitting there before me or if its warm and ill sit on my jacket then. I guess beyond that I have some checking stuff. I need to check the date and time of appointments multiple times because im positive im gonna miss it. Like I will check it, be soothed that its not right now, then check it again 2 seconds later because "what if i misread it? What if it changed?" And keep doing so.

I am struggling with OCD, and I feel like my life is ending, I feel like I am dying inside, I can barely even function mentally and go about my day. I am sad because this video makes OCD seem like a little thing, like "Oh he just likes to wash his hands often and be neat no biggie". It's much bigger than this, its life wrecking, it's crippling. and washing hands or checking doors are not the only compulsions. Edit: just wanted to say my apologies to the maker of this video. When I watched it first I was dealing with some issues internally( including the OCD) and it was very frustrating and painful so when I saw this video I felt a little offended like my situation was not being understood correctly. But I’m back to say, I think this video is actually pretty helpful at explaining just a little bit about what the OCD is and how it affects some people. (And I say a little bit because I believe the OCD symptoms are very diverse and broad) My apologies to the owner of this channel. Also anyone here going through OCD, I am so sorry. I know from experience it is not pleasant. I am currently seeking mental health services. And I will be praying, I pray you guys here get well.

When I watched it first I was dealing with some issues internally( including the OCD) and it was very frustrating and painful so when I saw this video I felt a little offended like my situation was not being understood correctly. But I’m back to say I think this video is actually pretty helpful at explaining just a little bit about what the OCD is and how it affects some people. (And I say a little bit because I believe the OCD symptoms are very diverse and broad) My apologies to the owner of this channel. Also anyone here going through OCD, I am so sorry. I know from experience it is not pleasant. I am currently seeking mental health services. And I will be praying, I pray you guys here get well.

I think ocd is also what I'm experiencing now. because it's just small things for me it's a big problem that I can't be comfortable with things things that I can't fix until I'm done and I don't feel comfortable like clothes I don't want to get dirty or stretched I even think I'll tear and repeat if I look and I can't get it out of my mind and then I'll look again and repeat the things that aren't perfect or ugly in my eyes, I also have trouble sleeping even if I don't think about anything at night.

Should i get myself checked. I dont have such sever symptoms as washing my hands too many times. But i have these: 1. When i use the fridge, I have to make sure it is fully closed, and I would check it around 2 to 3 times. There are days when I am already back in my room, but I'll go down to check on the fridge again; 2. It also happens when I use the toilet. Before I leave, I check the faucet, shower, and bidet twice and put my hand below to make sure it's not leaking 3. I check the doors, even when I know they're closed, because I am scared of the possibility that someone will break in our house. It does not really get in the way of what I do that much. But there are days when I have to constantly check because I feel uneasy and weird.

Actually i can feel the pain that you go through and the pain that everybody goes through as i also had OCD when i was 18 and 19 years old me was struggling with alot of mental illnes and deppresion as well so i feel like ocd comes specially when you are weak and tired from deppresion and you just want to feel safe even for a muinte ofcourse there are other causes like genatics and so on but thats how i see it .but now i can say that i am much better and if i was doing 20 things now i dont do any .and if the voice which now rarely comes i know how to shut it down so that how i did that. First :you have to talk to yourself like( okay now i know that ocd is a diseas right so that diseas causes a random voice that tells me if i didnt do stuff that i should do something bad is going to happen or whatever thing that you dont want it to happen so by talking to yourself and just thinking out loud you will conclude that ocd=diseas=not real ) Second: say you have to do 20 things today instead of doing the 20 just do 19 and how u are going to do that is lets say its midnight right and you have to do the last thing before bed skip it and just watch a movie to stop u from thinking about the fear and the voice by lisitening to the movie and just by watching it its going to keep you busy from the negative thoughts and voices and when you wake up in the next morning you will see that nothing bad happend when you didint do the last thing so you will not do it today and so on minimize the things that you have to do one by one and watch a show or a movie to distract you Third: i belive that whatever religon u belive in that god is the only one that have the power and control on your life not that random voice in your head so i said to my self okay if the bad thing that i am afriad of happend then god is the only one that can do this so even if i moved stuff or checked stuff out if god wants to do something he will still do it and in that time i was not praying so i started to pray and that made me feel much better by knowing that god will stand by myside and i should not be afraid of anything when god is here with us And thats how i got better and i think if you did this plus therapy if you can go it will help you alot because there is medications that can help minmize ocd I hope that i have helped anyone one and sorry for my grammer.

Recently two of my family members died and I have started to use cleaning as a way to distract myself from my thoughts about death. My bedroom used to be completely unorganised but since the start of this year, I have been cleaning it for hours on end to distract myself from my intrusive thoughts. I have used hand washing as another way to stop myself from thoughts cutting myself or causing harm to others. Idk if this is OCD but either way it’s absolute hell to be left alone with my emotions, so I will keep on doing this

Idk if I have OCD, but I do have some symptoms, but I'm not sure. 1. I have to hit my stomach till it feels right. 2. When I type, my fingers have to feel equal, so almost always I end up smacking at the keys till it feels right. 3. I have to make sure the light switch is off almost 3 times. So if it doesn't get enough pressure applied the first time, I have ti keep going back to it. 4. I have a lot of ticks: Physical and verbal. So like making a sound in my throat till it feels right, or putting a lot of pressure on my foot till it feels equal. I'm not sure if I have OCD or if I should get it checked out. I always feel like if I tell anyone, they won't understand, but after reading what a lot of you had to say, it made me realize I'm not alone :)

I just recently got to know about this OCD disorder I don't know if I have it or not , but here's my problem It started occuring last year. Like I watch a video and rewind it for re-rewind it like this " 1, 2 , 3 ,4,..... AHHH 5 , 6 ,7.......8, 9 10" then stopped . It was the first occurence . Then it started affecting my daily life - Going through the same path 5-10 times counting even odd , I thought I had become too conscious about things...I tried to resist myself but couldn't . I read a book now and I continuously read and repeat the same line countinuously , (subconsciously counting in my head), when I do excersice I worry about which side to stop, left hand or right hand , when I turn back to see something , I can't resist then to stop Myself unless I reach 5, or 10 or 20 times So, do I have OCD disorder?

i don't think so, although you need to go to a doctor to be sure. ocd is when you get anxious about not doing your compulsions, so in turn, you have to do them or else something bad is gonna happen. doesn't matter if it's cleaning your hands repeatedly or hopelessly refreshing a subreddit every 5 minutes to reaffirm to yourself that you are not something (the one i got), as long as it gives you so much anxiety that you only wanna act on your compulsions everyday and not do anything anymore, then it's ocd.

I don't think so. but you should get assessed. I think you definitely have anxiety, like me. Or, ADHD. It could be anything so I suggest first doing some research on other disorders such as anxoety and adhd, and then getting assesed to be sure. I can't tell u if u have it tho.

Idk if I have OCD, but there is this thing I do where I have to end thing perfectly. Like when I move my head I have to keep moving it until it feels perfect and it is so annoying. The same thing happens when I am typing I have to keep swiping my finger on the key until it feels perfect. Could you please tell me if this is a sign/symptom or OCD?

100% could be. That sounds like somatic ocd. If it’s causing a lot of distress a d you get highly anxious when you can’t just “get it right” i’d get it checked out

😔 I have OCD bad. I can remember when I was younger I didn't want any of my siblings to touch my food. As a teenager my room was always organized. I hate clutter and feel like I am a minimalist. When I was in the military aboard a ship it came easy to me when I had cleaning duties. I could've cleaned the entire ship. Now that I am older it's gotten better. I rent out because I can't stay in one place for too long. I moved from a very crowded city in Los Angeles to San Diego then my finale destination is Arizona the desert Tucson to be exact in 2008 when it wasn't so crowded. I am getting ready to move into a new place in about two months and I am already thinking about how I am going to sanitize it with vinegar , alcohol and bleach. Of course not all at the same time. I am exhausted 😔

I’m not sure if this is OCD but, every night I have to keep checking if my windows are locked and see if the front door is locked multiple times. Even knowing and seeing that it’s clearly locked, I yet still continue to go and make sure I can’t open the door. I always organize my backpack the night before school (take everything out and reorganize and put back to place neatly) and I always do things multiple times until I feel like the time is “right”

It is. When you do things repeatedly means you have ocd. This happened to me without noticing it. The organize probably one of them as it in the video above.

This video makes it seem less than, but for me this disorder makes me want to die, because I’m tired of having the same thoughts running through my head everyday, nonstop. I try everything to ignore my obsessive thoughts but it keeps coming back to me, no matter what I do or how I choose to move on, I can’t do anything but suffer

I have something like this, for about a year I have been experiencing obsessions, but they can be about almost anything.. i have an attachment to my things and if I feel like they might be lost I obsess over it, even though I know it’s in my room… or it could be about uncertainty, sometimes I feel the need to tell people about things that happened because I will feel incomplete if I don’t. For me it’s not really about washing hands or checking the door. But I do know that it is becoming worse and I’m educating myself about it.

My medications acted like it was helping but it didn't, my therapist made it worse. I have microdosed golden teachers shrooms for 4months now, and I have never felt this better before! Lookup ⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️at my RU-vid title he's the best mycologists I have ever encountered✅,……….

Is this a type of OCD? I don't know I might just be a perfectionist. Whenever I do my homework, it feels like to do it over and over again until I get the most beautiful handwriting. I try to convince myself that it's okay to have bad handwriting, some times I pass it but it feels it has to be perfect. I also feel my writing should be perfect. I think if I write a word wrong I am stupid or something like that. I feel like I don't know anything about that language and I am stupid just over a word IDK what to do. And I always try to make schedule and plans for even the SMALLEST things and if I don't do it I feel I am worthless :( Well I am getting better from that situation now but yeah if you think so please reply :) I don't think I have it, since I don't really have obsession, I have a certain feeling that urges me it but if I try hard enough I can control it. So yeah

I don’t think you have ocd cause important point of having ocd is repeating unnessesary things. You want to have a nice handwriting shown you are perfectionist. Cmmiiw

I used to do this so much in college, it got to point I spent hours on one page, it hurt my soul so bad, I just switched to pencil for while and markers cause I did it more with pen, and I have heavy hand so had be exact

i was wondering if i should get checked or not and if so, i was wondering on ways to bring this up with a parent? here are somethings that i think is why i might have ocd 1. checking if i've locked, shut or turned off things constantly. for example: checking if i shut the fridge multiple times just so that i wouldn't spoil the food. if i have locked the door so that no one breaks in. if i have turned of all electronics so they don't overheat and cause a fire in my house when i am not there and checking if i turn all the switches off so i don't make my parents electricity bill higher than it needs to be. it's gotten to the point where ill check constantly, then record 30-ish second videos because it just gets tiring. 2. praying even though i'm not religious? though, the praying is all done as a way for my family to keep in good health. so like, i pray for their good health at the expense of mine, if that makes sense? 3. if you've heard of the saying "touch wood" then this one would be easier to understand. i really can't touch wood without something covering my skin, so it cant have holes in it otherwise i wont sit or touch wood. this is because i feel like something bad will just appear in my mind and then it will become true because i am touching wood so i am in a fight with myself whenever i am touching wood without something covering my skin. however, if i am just sitting doing something such as drawing, etc, a thought will pop into my mind like "say that you hope everyone stays safe right now" (everyone being my family) while touching wood because i feel like if i don't do it and something happens, it is going to be my fault. 4. i have to say "i love you" to my parents every night. don't get me wrong, i say it and i really do mean it but sometimes it's even multiple times in the night. mostly because i am afraid that something could happen overnight. this is where i usually do the "pray" thing aswell so that everyone is sleeping so i don't disturb anyone or so no one catches me because i feel like it would be awkward to explain why i'm praying for their health and not mine lol. 5. sorry for the length lol but last one, when i'm in school, i can't touch things i know other people have touched. for example, i have to use the sleeve of my jumper or blazer so that nothing gets on my hands but even then, i am still hand sanitizing when i cannot wash my hands. my hands are getting really dry from it :/ and those are majority of the reasons. any help is appreciated. i really do think it might be ocd but i don't want to self diagnose and even if it was, i wouldn't even know what type it would be lol ty! :)

@@godblessyou2091 thank you so much for the support. i've tried bringing it up but i think they aren't taking me seriously because i normally say it in a joking manner which they probably think i'm messing around or smth. i do have plans to bring it up with them seriously, but i'm trying to figure out how to do that because i wont lie, i feel really embarassed talking about it, especially the praying thing haha. i know i shouldn't, but alas; i do. i'm hoping to get help though, it does get tiring. again, i really do appreciate your comment, it really does help. i really do hope you have a nice day :)

I don't know much about OCD . But i would really doing work one by one . Things in neat . If it is not in place , i would take it to the place again even need to repeat . Even my homework, i would 100% finish it and move to the other one or i might feel disturbed

Hello guys my name is likhit I had anxiety most of the time since my childhood first it started with a heart pain I felt so fearful and my heart was painting and then one day my mom said it's all ur thinking and then I tried not to think about it and it has disappeared and after that I was playing a computer game and I had a fear of things that won't stop which means I had fear of my heart beat and fear of infinite and in game infinite money etc. I coped myself telling that it doesn't exist everything has a stop and left it. Then after some years I think 6 or 7 years I had breathing anxiety which continued for 2 or 3 months and after that I accepted it was a thought and it has gone away and after that it came back again and it stayed for 1 month and gone away after that for 2 years I was fine but after that I had an anxiety that if I will think negative and do a thing then it will become real I mean I was working in a store as a typist I thought if I will type some word with negative thinking that my mom and dad will die then it would become real so I cut the word and type it correctly without negative thinking this anxiety continued for 7 months after that covid 19 was started and then i had done lots of exercises and after that I had a mild headache due to excessive exercising which was little but once the lockdown started I didn't meet my friends and everyone then my headache got worse and it stayed 24/7 with me after struggling one month with this anxiety I and my family members shifted to vizag then also my headache was there and one day I was thinking something that wt if another anxiety hit me and I will be free from this headache anxiety suddenly a thought came wt if poop anxiety came and then the poop anxiety literally came it was like I will go to poop and then In my mind I will think that some one are watching me and they are laughing and I can't poop and i just can't remove the thought I had irregular bowel movements with this it continued till 9 or 10 months and I suddenly got relief and I was doing great for 1 month and then suddenly one night a fight happened between my mom and me that night I slept well but woke up with a fever and I was not able to eat anything so after 1 or 2 days the fever was gone but the feeling of vomit hadn't gone it continued I had strange feelings like I was in a spinning wheel or having wt if the universe is infinite it scared me and why my heart beats 24/7 it also scared me then I had earbugs means music stuck in my mind and some scary things stuck in my mind I have struggled with this for 1 or 2 months and after that it was gone and I became stronger now I dont have fear of moving things and heart beat and no earbugs no vomit feeling one day I had a strange feeling that why silence is there why sound is there I thought if I can't stay in silent can I stay in sound the answer was no I struggled with it for 5 or 6 days and it was gone upto 3 days before everything was fine I had coped with all my anxieties and I was doing great but suddenly my colleges were declared holidays and now I'm.having a feeling that what is happiness and what is pain or torture and my mind is telling to stay in torture or stay in fear don't stay in happiness I'm not able to decide what to do I'm struggling please someone understand me and save me even saying save is opposing me my mind is kinda don't be saved be in pain and torture I'm writing this very clearly please someone help me

Im not sure if I have ocd but I constantly feel like being in a mental prison ever since I was maybe 12 I’ve been having string intrusive thoughts example when I was 12 I really thought I had cancer and the thought just came out of nowhere I used to search for symptoms and check myself if I felt something “weird” I felt great distress one time I convinced my mom to take to the doctor I had nothing but the fear still persisted even after years although it doesn’t worry me anymore then growing up I became religious and I used to repeat prayers till it felt right I also got intrusive thoughts insulting God and years later I had intrusive thoughts about demons I feel the need to repeat several words in my head and those thoughts causes me great distress now I am terrified God wants me to become a religious sister the fear is so much I cry and I make noises and I repeat words in my head to try to make me feel better the thoughts are so convincing even though I don’t wanna be a religious sister at all im so sacred like I don’t want it and I feel if I say I don’t want it or even think “I couldn’t do it” God would force me to do it by sending me feelings it’s horrible I hate it’s hell should I get checked?

Do you washed it multiple of times at that moment ? Usually ocd tend to washed their hands like more than 10 at the same time(if it severe ciuld be more than 10 times) cmmiiw

Sometimes I have to shake my head several to feel just right, blink several times or breath out my nose loud and fast as possible making a swooshing noise or trace my eyes around the borders of whatever I’m looking at. Mfers think I’m tweakin but I’m jus having a ocd attack. It gets worst if I smoke weed, do molly or blow.

It’s the obession so you do have ocd cause ocd means done things unnessary repeatly. That thoughts also one of them. I also just noticed i have ocd last night cause i tend to check things over and over again.

I do check things repeatedly and have fears and mental images that something bad would happen if I don't check, but I actually don't care that much about organizing things. I don't know whether this is considered OCD or not.

I dont know if i have OCD but I have this behavior everytime I leave the house I always check the switches of the electricity, the locks of the doors the things inside the house over and over again so many times I even took pictures of it before leaving.. Im very sick of it but I cant help it.. can anyone tell me about this?

I don't think that it ism unless u have other symptoms as well. I think that's just anxiety that something bad may happen if you don't, which is competely normal when leaving the house, this could easily just be anxiety. But if it affects ur daily life, such as wanting to do this at random times while you're in the house as well, or have intrusive thoughts about this multiple times a day when it is not needed, i suggest getting assessed if you're really worried but that does cost a lot of money and time

Idk if I have OCD, I really believe I do but I'm worried that I'm just overreacting coz for a bit of time i thought i mightve had ADHD when now i dont think i do. since i learnt more abt OCD I've noticed the symptoms more, here are some of them 1. I have bad intrusive thoughts, one of the worse ones is I think that ppl I like are seeing what I'm doing and this morning I could barely get my clothes on after a shower coz I felt embarassed and nervous 2. (this one comes back sometimes) But when i touch something I HAVE to touch it with the same pressure with my other hand 3. I worry abt made up scenarios like e.g I noticed I have a needle like stuck into the wood on my mirror and I had to move it coz i was scared someone taller would stab their eye by accident (Ig this is a intrusive thought but this is a time I acted on it instead of it just being in my head ) 4. (this usually happens once a day or a couple times every 2 days) I will pray bcoz im scared something i said might actually happen e.g sometimes my brain thinks "which sense would u rather lose?" and after I say one I start praying bcoz I get scared I'll actually lose that sense. -MY MEMORY SUCKS SO IF I REMEMBER ANYMORE I'LL TRY TO ADD- 5. Before I got sick and stopped going to school for a bit I frequently checked my backpacks zipper coz I was scared it was open or that someone would steal something from my bag

hey, they're still mostly the same, i still have intrusive thoughts (sexual ones even abt Family members which make me feel disgusted, also recently in school we were learning abt the KKK and suddenly i was horrified coz I was like "what if I'm a white supremisist?" Even tho there's no reason for me to think that.) I still have times where I have to make both sides of my hands touch stuff evenly, this usually happens when I get angry but I can happen out of nowhere, i still move stuff if I think it could be dangerous Even tho it shouldn't be e.g I'll move a knife that's in the middle of the counter to face the other way even tho there's no way someone can hurt themselves with it, 4th point is still the same but it's not as common and the 5th one is also the same. I constantly feel for my phone in my pocket even tho ik it was there 5 secs ago

It gets to the point that i feel my phone, not feel it for a sec and have a mini heart attack over it. Whenever I have a "which sense would u rather lose" moment i specifiy to myself that I'd not want to lose either and ask that god won't get rid of any, its stressful 😭😭

@Aezen yeah, I've never had it so I had to do crazy stuff to stop it but it must be horrible most of my intrusive thoughts happen in my head. However I've noticed 1 thing that could be a sign of OCD and it's that i usually set random challenges for myself? Life e.g I'll be like "I bet i can put on this shirt before my dog runs in" and it used to be a lot of 'if I fail this challenge I'll have bad luck'. Idk if I still believe in the bad luck part of it but ik i still randomly have those "challenges" which force me to rush random things e.g running up stairs before my mum turns off the lights or doing something before someone can say a word etc

I don't know if this is ocd or not but i usually washing my hands many time until i say it's okay to stop But when i stop doing it,it's feels like have you done washing this ,like are you sure it's clean enough, So i wash them again with soap,then water,then soap And it's almost take about 30 minutes for my self just in the toilet,And it's bothering me And i am a muslim and i was wondering if it's false bacause basically i spend many water to wash hands or taking wudhuk Because i just think it's not enough,and i do it over again Anyone? This started a few weeks ago or like a month ago,i don't know, And people are going to be like, Why you spend so much time in a toilet, Are you building a toilet, And i was like, I tried to control it but I dont know if you guys feels the same, I wanted to tell my mum,but i just think she will like,nothing to be worried I don't know, I told my sister why i spend much time in a toilet, I repeat things And she told me like I was perfectionist I just don't know☺

Yes you have ocd cause you cleanse your hand multiple times which is unnessary. And ocd varies and i just noticed i have the checking one. Go to phsychologist and be treated ok dear have a nice day btw

I would seriously talk to your parents about this. I know a diagnosis may seem a bit scary, but that means that you can get the proper help and treatment that you need. Also, it will be a huge relief.

I wouldn’t hide it. My wife’s parents refuse to acknowledge their daughters, my wife’s, severe ocd. She causes huge levels of stress for me and our 2 little boys. To the point of making them cry because of her germ fear and hand washing. It has gotten very depressing. Her parents will refuse to talk about it and she will not see someone. It’s caused me a great deal of stress and depression but she will not see someone nor acknowledge it is there despite her hands being so severely damaged with huge cuts and blood dripping regularly from them. Being 38 her hands look over 90 and regularly flake and bleed.

my girlfriend; washes her hand probably 50 times a day from things like making the bed, touching things like her shoes, door handle, floor, fridge, a pen, gas pump, etc... she won't let me touch her or hold her phone until she sees I wash my hands she uses a napkin to turn off the kitchen faucet and uses a kleenex to turn off the light switch to go to bed she sprays her clothes with antibacterial spray each day she also sprays her car interior with lysol each day she decontaminates hotel rooms with wet wipes when arriving she opens the bedroom door with her feet to avoid touching the doorknob she decontaminates her drivers license and credit card each day she has a bottle of santizer attached to her purse and uses it in public constantly she is terrified if someone is near her and coughs or sneezes she also is terrified of freeways and only drives on side-roads she is worried of lack of bathrooms when in the car and has me pull over constantly to see if she needs to poop She is not on any meds and has never seen a doctor for these issues. I'm not sure how she can be helped.

OCD is not an ordinary problem.. I'm suffering from 2 year's.. Rational and irrational behaviour .. Many many times OCD PROBLEM will mould me like a Flour . Sometimes I'll be very very much happy .. Only God have saved me from OCD
