**Track While Scan no longer works well to guide AIM-120 missiles against maneuvering targets in 4.37. Use RWS “Situation Awareness Mode: Dual Target” instead. Watch my video on radar basics: 3 types of radar contacts.
Hi, glad you appreciate it. The threat guide is in the Docs/00 BMS Manuals folder, and the BMS training guide has been majorly updated for this mission now with a reaaally deep dive into BVR tactics. As far as talking to AWACS I was just practicing comms as I'd speak while in multiplayer, and using the 4-way hat switch on my throttle which is mapped to 4 AWACS comms commands in the key mapping menu - AWACS: request picture, declare, vector to nearest threat (bogey dope), and request help - this is a useful one to get friendly AI vectored to help you
@@Wheelman_PCAS ah ok I see. Yeah I've been through the training mission, but probably need to read and do it a couple more times 😅 Ok I see, I've been playing around with a voice attack module called AVCS4, mapping the push to talk buttons to my cimm switch, so I can trigger command and talk on the radio at the same time. But it's not working that well.
I think most ppls strong preference is to use voice attack for single player missions, but for multiplayer, to use the qwerty keyboard keys in concert with the proper spoken comms transmitted over the radios for all human players to hear. @@Christian-vk2cb
can't recall why I chose 85, but it looks like wingman knew to switch his tacan as well. Here's the correct briefed tacans for the mission: 1st flight in a package: Lead: 12Y - Wingman #2: 22Y - Element Lead: 75Y - Wingman #4: 85Y 2nd flight in a package: Lead: 13Y - Wingman #2: 23Y - Element Lead: 76Y - Wingman #4: 86Y
@@gabrielwong1991 since our callsign is Falcon 1-1/ 1-2 and not 1-3/ 1-4 we know we’re the lead and wingman and not element lead and element wingman. As long as tacan is 63 numbers apart on the same band, the two aircraft are synced up
@@gb7418 thanks GB I don’t understand the need to be 63 numbers apart for the wingman’s tacan… does that mean say in two-ship scenario your wingman will need to add 63 to 22? So lead 12, wingman 85… but for four-ship scenario you will have the normal tacan? I.e lead 12, wingman 22, elem 75, elem wingman 85?
@@gabrielwong1991 in multiplayer flights you’ll see a lot of 4-ships with: Lead: 11Y -2: 74Y -3 74X -4 11X Two jets 63 numbers apart - or air-air tacan freqs - apart will have yardsticks to each other. If you tune to someone’s actual freq - like a tanker - you’ll see your distance to them but they won’t have the same info unless they tune to a corresponding freq to yours, 63 numbers apart. Read the manual there’s some more nuance
