John has been working hard on the John Deere 1010 Diesel Industrial Crawler.
We've joined with him to provide some replacement parts and expertise during the equipment's revitalization project.
But how can we help when the injectors needed are OBSOLETE?!
Curtis' hit up his contacts, was laughed at and scrounged for discontinued injector nozzles with no luck.
Never deterred, Curtis' then searched through the brains and archives at ‪@AreaDieselService‬ and discovered a 1955 service bulletin with a solution to attempt to save these unobtanium American Bosch ADE type nozzles. There is also backup plan B, C, D, E.....

I feel the warmth and care of this company and its people. They love and appreciate their customer. Their mission is to help the customer make his/her equipment whole. They are in it all the way dedicated to the customer and their needs. This is all too rare toady and truly heart warming. I really felt it when our tech, about to test the last injector asked for a prayer. You can tell these are good mid western people with values and a heart. BRAVO!🎉

Fantastic. Guaranteed 37+ hp after those lapped seats. And John can setup that turbo for the pre-combustion chamber... we're talkin north of 40. This is what makes a great Saturday, The 1010 is comin back! Best vision ever.

This video show that ADS is a top notch company willing to do what they can to help a customer instead of telling the customer to peddle sand and good luck finding the injectors you need. Currently not a diesel user but if the day comes I know who to call for parts and service.

25:00 "what you do" is offer a service! Plain and simple. And you do it VERY well. It is a lost art and you have maintained this feature of American society with grace and humility. You work.the problem rather than unload the parts cannon on it. Your company goes above and beyond to take care of the customer. I wish more companies would do this. Thank you for what you provide and do for us.

Thank GOD we have Americans right here on our soil that do this! I'm plum picking tired of sending things out of the country to get worked on and waiting MONTHS to get something back. And when I mean months, I'm talking about 3-6 months if they ever come back.

Yeah, from what I've seen there are so many folk in other places around the world that do this stuff on the regular due to where they are or the economy there. They have great skills when it comes to make do and mend but if you send off to them who knows if or when it makes it through customs twice. It's nice to see folks here that are willing to help out when so many'd just tell you to haul it to the junk yard.

Mabey not fascinating to some but I thought it was great content. I spent 42 years working on all kinds of old equipment from Navy boats to rubber / plastic manufacturing and Alum. foundry equipment and the small detailed jobs such as you just did seemed to present the greatest challenges and most satisfying rewards. Well done!

the teamwork not shown during assembly was probably awkward. did you make a new friend? hope no one had beans for lunch 😂. One of those situations where a child in the shop would come in handy--though they would learn too much vocabulary too fast. Those pintles look like internal hydraulic valve parts, so i wonder if some sharing of production resources was done anywhere ever.

It would have been interesting to see what the opening pressure would have been with the shim removed. Then you could have probably come up with a measurement for a new shim to get to the 100bar. Obviously, it comes down how much money the customer wants to spend on the injectors. Those were built when things were the designed to be serviced and repaired.

Thank you ! I wanted to see the process of lapping the pintle....I did notice you lapped them in the proper orientation ...i.e. down but the book showed them lapping them upside down I think that is so the weight of the pin vice pulls down on the pintle giving a better grind of the seats.... something to think about ! i noticed that through most of the lapping you were not pulling up on the pin vice which in that configuration you should have been. but as long as they lapped good and didn't leak that means you did it right regardless ! good job! thank you for fixing john's injectors he's a good man and deserves all the help you can give him !
