Really good video...thank you so much. Diesel injection still fascinates me, after over 50 years of using diesel engines. Excellent work...excellent camera work!
I also came here from farmcraft101. I watch all Johns videos! Also enjoyed watching the rebuild. Thanks to everyone at Area Diesel for a very detailed rebuild video!
Thank you for this great episode! In these days of disposable parts and NLA, you and your team remind us of the jobs, expertise and pride that local remanufacturing businesses bring to the community. Support “Right-to-repair” legislation, folks. I hate excess regulations, but big corporations don’t seem to care about their customers or the country that made them great. I’m looking forward to the turbo rebuild!!!
I have to agree with Jon, Rebuilding and calibrating these mechanical injector pumps is something better left to a professional shop with dedicated equipment and fixtures. I’m avid supporter of DIY but after watching this video you don’t need to convince me that there are just some things in life that are best left to the experts.
Nice to see a quality rebuild job in a world that doesn't care much about quality anymore. I also saw the rebuild job on the turbo for Diesel Creek. Quality work from quality people and explaining the cost breakdown is the cherry on top.
WOW, what a top crew and great you guys were willing to share, god only knows when the knowledge accrued by these will disappear. 10/10, go to the top of the class👍😎👊
I'm thinking someone set that thingbup for long term storage. The reason for putting a block off plate on the manifold is if you just block off the muffler it can still condensate the air in the muffler and end up with damage similar to leaving it open to the weather.
I do not go into heavy equipment, the most I did is car engine rebuild and personal lawn mowers. I didn't know you (ADS), but I follow John, seen everything he posted. Great job to both Area Diesel and Farmcraft101. I just watch it for the beauty of all these extraordinary aspects of mechanics. Awesome explainer!
Prior to this video, my only knowledge of "Area Diesel Service" was that it must be some magical place where farmercrafters send parts and they came back fixed. But now I got to see how the magic happens, and even more amazing - it's not 100% magic, but mostly science and experience. VERY kewl to see what was previously "behind the scenes" from my favorite farmer genius. Also, holy COW is Mallory tight with those mid-sentence edits! Removing all the "uhs" and pauses to make a 90-minute video into 49 minutes takes a LONG time, and we the viewers really appreciate it!
