one of my favorite song from one of my favorite bands, play the bass with tech 21 VT bass and the pick is a pleasure, i used a standard tuning ( E - A - D - G ),
Interpol is one of my favorite bands, too. I love every bass line in their songs. (Okay, honestly I love everything about them but bass drives me crazy.) You're truly amazing.
Hello, good sir. I have to say that i love this cover. I have watched it 17 times in 36 hours. You seem to enjoy playing Carlos D's staccato progressions and it in infectious. Great job and thank you. This video has really helped me as a drummer.
I’m starting in this world of bass... Interpol is one of my favorite bands! I saw a lot of flow in this bass lines. He like to play with the second cord and up to the 4 or 3th... I like that drop of the song and the scales... ✔️
I'm not a bass player but i like listening to bass covers to listen and appreciate the bass part more. 30 seconds into this video and i was already wondering how i never noticed how awesome and varied and well structured the bass line is in this song. I find especially the very beginning absolutely tasteful and emotional. Thanks for uploading and playing it so well
Bass can be super simple. It can also be the hardest instrument to play. It's not about the size but the motion in the ocean :P Carlos was an incredible bass player for Interpol. There are a lot of really good bass players out there. A lot of people would be surprised how crucial bass is to the entire song. Drums and bass are the heart of a good band. You will and probably have noticed that in a good band the bass and drums are always in sync. IMO bands like that are the greatest. I am a bass player myself and I can never get enough of a good band like this. Plus I mean come on... That fucking tone? If you ever get the chance to play a bass just pay attention to how it vibrates through your whole entire body. That's one of the big reasons I leaned towards bass. It's seriously the best instrument.
@@kane00000 I watched the Cure play live in 1992 - and when Simon Gallup hit that opening drop D bass riff on "End" I felt it inside my body. It was INSANE.
DUDE! I think you are amazing! and i have seen almost all of your videos now, and i have learned a lot from just watching you! i am a beginning bass player and i play the guitar and drums already, so you are my new person i look up to (besides Geddy Lee) I love you! no homo
this cover is so perfect that I can not even stablish my like. Something is erasing it, and I need to put it again again and again... anyway I do it! :)
Carlos come hoooooome! BTW nice bass, as an avid American Fender bass fan i must admit that Squire has been making some great guitars for a great price.
Nice. Thank you for actually having some feeling and expression. Skipped through a bunch of these Obstacle 1 bass covers and cannot stand all the ones that are technically good but so cold, boring and lifeless. At least you seem to be into it. So many bass players look bored and make it a lifeless instrument. I think that'w what I like so much about Carlos, he brought some attitude to it.
saw this live in CA c2006. While it was one of my great life experiences, it is now just a memory. I'd love to be back there... hearing a live ish, version for the first time, ALMOST takes me back to that moment.
