Tips for other Zelda games should you do this challenge in them: In a link to the past, the lanmolas can be killed with the ice rod, the armos knights can be killed with the bow, the bug net can reflect Agahnims magic, and mothula can be killed by a bee. In the wind waker, phantom ganon's projectiles can be reflected with a bottle. In twilight princess, possessed zelda's projectiles can be reflected with a bottle. In a link between worlds, the bug net can damage enemies and reflect yuga ganon's magic.
Yea I was pretty sure this was going to die at the last fight as it’s hard coded to require the master sword. A crazy challenge that is loss thought is zelda 1 with the sword though it’s well know to be possible

you beat 99% of it without using the sword,so it's only 99% possible until the game forces you to do it with the finale battle,and that's ok in my book,I think you did great,I hope you do with with other games

Doing this on the Nintendo, 64 version would’ve been easier as Deku sticks do twice the amount of damage as the kokiri sword. This was reduced in the 3DS remake.
It is actually possible to use the hammer to damage Bongo Bongo. You need to take out the hammer, then guard, and attack with the hammer, all without L-targeting. If done correctly, Link should be crouching and attacking very quickly, thrusting the hammer forward. This method works on Dead Hand, too!
5:56 No, you missed some. You got the ocorina of TIME and learned the song if TIME to open the door of TIME inside the temple of TIME to access the pedestal of TIME to TIME travel.
The deku stick being usable while broken happens when you hit something twice with it in the air before hitting the ground (e.g. jumpslashing the lizalfos). Also deku sticks do more damage than the sword, its 2x stronger
I did this challenge several years ago and even made a gamefaqs thread about it. Surprised someone so famous did it too. I 100% the game and used early kokiri escape to skip getting the kokori sword until the very end of the game. (Getting fairy ocarina moves Mido from blocking the deku tree). Only requirement for kokiri sword is child fishing.
Funfact: You can also not finish Twilight Princess without using the Master Sword, you cannot reflect the Electric Balls of Zelda being Ganon's Puppet, you need to use the Master Sword to reflect them, and while you actually can hurt Dark Beast Ganon with Wolf Link, you cannot use the Ordon Sword in his last phases as well, because he won't take any damage with the Ordon Sword equipped
I paused at the time 14:50 where I looked like the weapon broke and by pausing it a right time I saw what broke was not a stick but a blade, so I think you summoned an invisible Giant’s Knife not an invisible Deku Stick
I looked it up and the deku stick and the megaton hammer do the same amount of damage. So next time I need to hammer in a nail, I guess I'll just use a stick instead
If you go to the graveyard as Young Link at night and pull the grave in the first row that has flowers in front of it, you can actually get a free Hylian Shield if you don't already have one. Otherwise, it's just 5 rupees. :3
You don't even need bombs for the Flare Dancer in the fire temple. If you're quick, you can hookshot him out of the flames while he's spinning at the beginning of his attack. :3
This was a really cool challenge, Ocarina of Time 3D is one of my favourite Zelda games I’ve played alongside Majoras Mask 3D, Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild

Sorry, man. I knew going into this vid that ganon can’t be defeated without using the master sword. I literally just beat oot 3ds, I think on the day this vid came out, too, and I was using the biggoron sword. I also got to the point where ganon wasn’t taking any damage from it, and I realized I needed the master sword to finish him off. But the fact that you got to the very end without using a sword is incredible
Damn, tough break, mate. How about you try out A Link to the Past while only using the sword to damage enemies? The rules are obvious - You can only deal damage with the sword. Everything else is allowed as long as you don't damage any enemies with it.
Crazy challenge I always thought it would be without a rupee for a Zelda challenge But it does confuse me why he bought the Hylian Shield when you can get a free one in the Graveyard by pulling graves

Im surprised you didnt turn this into a speedrun tech showcase Nico. You can beat Ganon as kid link with the deku stick and a special bit of tech that makes deku sticks unbreakable and do massive amounts of damage
Could you use the Giant's Knife from Medigoron? It's a knife not a sword. It still does damage after breaking. Apparently if you keep fixing the Giant's Knife it gets stronger each time going from four to up to eight strikes before breaking. (Three strikes against walls)
You could actually defeat Dark Link with the hammer really easily if you hit him WITHOUT Z-targeting. Don't ask me why it works, it's just a thing lol.
Bombchus I think could have gotten you through the forest temple, and been useful from tye soonest you can get them. Please do Majora's Mask like this.
It sucks that you can't hit Bongo Bongo with the Megatton Hammer in Ocarina 3DS. Why did Nintendo did that!? It makes no sense!!! Hypotesis: It's possible to beat Ocarina of Time without the Master Sword? Conclussion: No. It's mandatory to use the Master Sword to defeat Ganondorf in his Ganon form.
