I'm just like you, Hearth. (14:30 - 14:50) People look around my book-filled home and they always say "You must really love reading!!" And I modestly reply: "Well, actually, my REAL hobby is buying books. Reading is just a little something I do on the side." 🙂

There are several hobbies with books, or, almost anything! There is the collecting of said item. There is organizing of the items. And there is the use, with books there is the reading, of the items. :) Also, there is trading too.

My great aunts were born in the 1800's. One was a white witch, one was a black witch, at least that's what they called them back then. They kept throwing hexes at each other. Things have come a long way, thank goodness. I'm not a witch, but still quite interested. Thank you for an informative video.

I live your disclaimer at the beginning - I’ve practiced my whole life -didn’t understand what I was doing in my childhood but used nothing but my mind rocks and sticks to do it! And if you guys can absolutely support authors and book makers- they help use spread the knowledge to each other and someone just starting out and help us build ourselves and our own practices! I have read Demons and Spirits of the Land and it's a great book if you're interested in the history and ancient practice of dealing with land spirits but it isn't much about what to actually do nor much info about specifics spirits. Great for study but not for practical practice unless you like coming up with your own rituals and connections. But it really is a must read if you're serious about working with spirits in general since the first thing you want to do is get to know the local spirits of the land.

I have Claude Lecouteux's book "Witches, Werewolves, and Fairies"; he's a very good writer and quite informative. I'm getting his book "Demons and Spirits of the Land", which Hearth reviewed in this video. I might be wrong, but I think his name is pronounced "Cloud Le-co-too". 😊

Some fabulous books there, Hearth. I'm so tempted by several of them, lol. I'm threequarters through 'Silent as the Trees', and it's mostly been historic about witchcraft practices through written records and stories handed down locally. Tbh, I was hoping for some that are a bit more modern practices as well, but we're just getting onto Devon Pixies, which is really fun and ones different to those I'm aware of in my own locality. I'm looking forward to the Black Book, which I'm nearly at. I absolutely must get the two plant books, as I'm also very much into nature, and they both sound fascinating. Thank you as always, Hearth. I always get inspired by your videos. :)

Thank you for the Kew gardens book review. I have been kinda giving it a swerve as a coffee table book. So real useful to know it is a solid all rounder. I recently came across the kew gardens book titled "plants that kill" which is science heavy but increadibly interesting on the tactics plants take to protect themselves and the impact these tactics can have.

I love those mushrooms! I have had that two gardens book on my wish list for years, but I cannot find it here in the US. Amazon had it for a while, but then they didn’t anymore. The V manuscript book sounds so interesting! I think that manuscript is so fascinating. I have seen before when people have used AI to help interpret things and crack codes and have wondered before if it could possibly be used on that manuscript.

I'm also on the hunt for a copy of The Green Mysteries, but DAMN I had no idea it was so huge! I knew it had a lot of pages, but it's massive! 😂 The sheer wait for the publication was an actual joke though tbh, I don't think I'd ever do a THP pre-order

You are so good at picking out books. I'm a book lover but unfortunately I have to go thrifting to get them but even not I'll have money to get just one and I'll have like 10 in my hands lol. Im very picky and I'm starting to want books more than tarot/Oracle decks and that's saying something. I love books and want to start reading more again bc as a witch no matter how much you know or long You've been doing it you will learn something new every single day. I don't care if someone has done it for 30 years you never stop learning and books are what I need. I love highlighting and writing notes but hate writing in book so it can go in notebook or BOS

I'm interested in your love for those Llewellyn sabbat books. I did not find them remotely useful. Definitely different strokes! The Royal Botanical book sounds delicious. If you are interested in alechemy brush up your Latin. Mather can be tough going.

I've been eyeing the Kew gardens books myself and would be very interested in your view on the Witches garden once you had an opportunity to read it. Would love more of a breakdown of the green mysteries book. Its been one ive been aware of but, yeah, never have found. Ive been an herbalist for for nearly thirty years, a lover of plants for longer and been working with them magically since the start of my magical practice in 2009. Great collection I have the black toad and keep it at my altar but it’s getting worn now so I definitely think I will get a hardback copy. Thank you so much for supporting Dandelion. Hi there Hearth, I love your videos. Your zest for the craft is just wonderful! I live in Texas. The two real costly books are quite interesting. I cannot spend $3,000.00 on a book. I was wondering about the herb book too. Several hundred on that one.
