Osteochondritis dissecans in the knee- For reasons that are not very clear, the surface of a bone in the knee joint can become soft and can collapse like a pothole. The soft tissue layer and bone can become damaged and torn. This problem is called osteochondritis dissecans and is often referred to as OCD. We often see this in young athletes because of the repeated wear and tear on joints with running and jumping. Watch to learn more about the diagnosis and treatment options.
