Ocean City Maryland Tsunami warning siren June 2020

Tsunami, earthquake, civil unrest (eg H20i), tornado, hurricane etc warning siren heard in the evening. It was followed by 4 sets of fire trucks and ambulances over screaming down coastal highway for the next 20 minutes. Turns out it was a hotel fire. If anyone has any history on where the siren is let me know in the comments. I would guess it is on the water tower but I didnt see anything.
Update: Guess the hotel for bonus points!

The siren is on a pole right next to that blue silo, and they are used when Ocean City volunteer firefighters are alerted for a structure fire, but can also be used to warn people of an imminent threat by sounding a steady signal. There are 2 more sirens in the city; one at the Convention Center, and one at the FD headquarters. Excellent recording by the way!

I hear this Siren once every week, it is not a tsunami warning. It is merely used when there is a good fire going on. I imagine in a case like that, they would get on their loudspeaker and do some “Tsunami imminent. Take cover”

It's a mechanical siren. It is essentially a two fans that are designed to be as loud as possible, so there is no way of producing a voice through it. It can only make noise, and lots of it. This is the type of siren it is: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-zGIJZGgqFmM.html. The term for the fan is a chopper, because it chops up air which makes noise. This siren has two and both produce a different pitch.

Joethaboss66 Gotcha, well Ik not sure what they would use in case of a Tsunami, maybe the siren followed by a voice announcement. But all I’m saying is it is used in Ocean City Maryland by the Fire Department to call fire fighters in when there’s a good fire going on. My coworker is a firefighter there and whenever that siren goes off, he’s out in a minute on his way to the fire

@@sjchxhtriskit3025 If there is a tsunami they would most likely give alerts via peoples smartphones. There is a siren at the volunteer fire company I live near to and it is never used for severe weather. We get alerts through our phones and the siren is exclusive to the fire company.
