Ocean crossing to French Guiana [part 1] - Sailing Eva [093] 

After a great time in Mindelo on the Cape Verde Islands, we leave for the crossing to French Guiana. The conditions on the ocean are not very rough, but still the gennaker has torn. On the way we patch the tears and we can sail again. Patrick throws out a fishing line and after a while we catch a big Mahi Mahi which we eat deliciously (yes, me too!). Not only do we catch this fish, but every morning we find flying fish on deck that have landed on board by accident.
For years I have dreamed of sailing wherever the wind takes me. In 2020, the time had finally come and Felia and I made a wonderful trip to Scandinavia and the Baltic States. Our Eva, a 2007 Atlantic 43, is an aluminum sailing yacht with lifting keel and built and equipped for trips to places just beyond the horizon. Starting in 2021, I will be sailing south with alternating crews.
