I played this when I was entering the casino in Atlantic City from which the film was set during the song's play. This score definitely a fit for the land of slot machines.
10 years, 1.6 million views. I remember sifting through the internet trying to find this track. Once I did, I figured other people would want to hear it too so here we are. Thanks
Let's not forget to give all the credit to David Holmes. He was the man behind the music in all 3 Ocean's movies. The music he created for these movies is GENIUS
I was only 11 years old (that's right jajaja...) when I saw this movie for the first time. It seemed in my mind a swing and rhythm I couldn't name. This track forever changed my taste in music. Paved access to Herbie Hancock, Thellonius Monks, Coltrane, Q-Tip and a universe of ultra-talented siblings. Some trails open infinite doors in our minds.
If you want to be really specific: Downtempo. This genre was very popular in the early 2000's. Bands: Thievery Corporation, Saint Germain... Look for albums like Hotel Costes.
This os such a great setup for the movie. You got the drum beat clicking like a second hand on a watch, very precise. But then you got the jazzy part, showing you they're laid back when they have to improvise. And music is basically about timing & tone.
Holy shit, this movie is literally my favorite movie ever. Never have i seen a movie with such a great plan to rob a casino AS WELL AS such great actors! (George Clooney is so HOT!)
I find it interesting how the drum kinda is like a second hand clicking, and how they work with such precision, but it's also jazzy, like how they are criminals, but they're laid back, and improvise when they need to.
this exact hit would technically classify as soundtrack/score. the original hit this was mixed off of "rodney yates" would be either techno, funky beats, club/dance, or electronica.
i feel like putting on a suit and robbing the local liquor store in the most elegant, elaborate and convoluted way possible. i need someone to knock out the power grid while i walk in and attach myself to the roof so that i can lower myself to the register. from there i will parachute to the hideout while someone distracts the police by stealing the launch codes
Best quotes "I'm gonna get out and drop you like 3rd period French." "I don't have time to fool around with you two circus animals." "You know what your problem is?" "I only have one?"
@Monkey8954 i know what you're referring to. the song is called museum camera. there is another one that sounds similar which is called: casino implosion
Oceans Eleven is magnificent and the other two live off this film even when they dont reach the first one heights damn they rule with character and fun.
@StanTheRecordMan David Holmes made a name with this soundtrack, and to get his name out, he sent out a promo score for the Oscar race. now, i don't normally recommend downloading music but it IS Illegal to buy this CD as it was not intended to be bought. It goes good with adding both the score and the soundtrack together.
@TheMarkc i don't know if it will get more views but i do know the harder music it is to find, the more it will get! i upload the songs from the scores cuz they're harder to find
