In Ocean's Thirteen is when Elliot Gould (Reuben), Al Pacino (Mr Banks), and George Clooney (Danny Ocean) talked about "shaking Frank Sinatra's hand" is a little Easter Egg tribute because Frank Sinatra played "Danny Ocean" in the original 1960s Ocean's 11 movie.

@@nostoneunturned7641 that might be your option on my comment but it's just how my brain works. It's a gift and a curse I got from both my parents. I have a very good photographic memory that I can remember things in fine details and have to explain them into fine details. More importantly most people don't know that the 2001 Ocean's Eleven is just remake of the movie Ocean's 11 that came out in 1960 staring the Rat Pack.

@30:00 for those who are NOT familiar with Roulette, the bet was 10 million on number 13..the ODDS of a straight number hit is 35-1..So the WIN was for 350 million dollars..That essentially was the BULK of their heist..the rest was just dancing on Willie GRAVE at that point!!

That's why they give him a jackpot win at the end of the movie. They tortured the poor guy, it was the least they could do for him. Maybe doesn't make up for it but it makes it a lot easier to get over.

This is my favourite out of the Ocean movies. I am a sucker for found family and when everyone puts everything in just to avenge their friend - their family - it means everything. And of course them looking after the five diamonds guy knowing that they put him through hell, even if it was for a good cause. THE FACTORY IN MEXICO IS AMAZING. The entire story is about family and looking after each other - the factory workers, Ruben, the five diamonds guy, Linus and his dad, talking about Tess and Isabel and keeping them seperate from the heist just in case, Oprah helping families and then Benedict's share going to foster children, everything goes back to taking care of others.

WOAH!! You weren't kidding about really getting into this series. Three for three yer knockin' em right outta the park. If ya want to continue in this vein... Soderbergh did go on to do another heist flick, but with a different 'crew', Lucky Logan. The flick that put him on the map was Out of Sight, also with Cheadle and Clooney... AND J-Lo. Also, please try Guy Ritchie's Man from UNCLE and/or Brosnan's Thomas Crown Affair. And as another commentor mentioned, The Sting, is a must.

My favourite little detail from this film is that they might've turned Terry Benedict into a good person at the end, completely by accident. Also, there were plans for Steven Soderbergh to make an "Ocean's Fourteen" where everyone would be brought back for one final film, but he refused to make it after the passing of Bernie Mac as it wouldn't be the same without him.

Well to be fair. Benedict in the first movie was not a "bad guy" bad guy you know? He was a Conceited Ass, but i mean, he's a Casino owner, that comes with the Job, he was a control freak and was not averse to use means that would bent the law. But of what i remember he did NOTHING that is breaking the Law, he din't hurt anyone, the only thing he "did" "wrong" was going out with Danny's Ex-Wife AFTER they "broke up".

Possibly turned good, but Terry realised it was *not* worth the effort to get back at Danny and co for yet another go-around considering their resourcefulness, and that he had also taken liberties with using Toulour.

George Clooney revealed this January that he actually has a script in hand for Oceans Fourteen. The cast would NOT be the same, because his character was killed off before Ocean’s Eight. This would mix some of the old cast (Oceans 11-13) and some of the new cast (Oceans 8). He has not found a director who is willing to take on a project of this magnitude, especially with the past success of the films. Soderbergh has read the script and praised it, but was never willing to return. He believed that this film ended their journey AND that entering without ANY of the original cast members would need to be recognized in the film. This would take a fun, heist film and turn it into something more serious and depressing. I have always loved these three films, they came out as I was growing up. I was terrified when I heard about Oceans 8, and I only recently watched the film. It was SO much better than I was expecting. I felt like I was 14 in the theater again. I genuinely believe that this is where they should leave the series.

Rewatching the movie there's a seen early in the movie where they mention "Would you go through all this for (a number I can't remember). Then one of the brothers says "Nah, I'd do it for 11 million" so that's what they gave him at the end. It's little details like that, that make me love this movie.

38:40 - It's easy to miss, but they actually talked about this earlier in the movie. Rusty (I think) was saying he felt bad about what they were going to do to the reviewer, Danny said "Well, we'll be giving him the Susan B. Anthony afterwards", and Rusty said "Yeah, well I still feel bad."

Such a good movie. One of Paul Newman's best, in my opinion, and he did a lot of great work. Robert Shaw as the antagonist is also very compelling, "ye follah?"

Twelve might be the most overly bold and experimental entry in the franchise (as well as 100% the best one, obviously lol), but Thirteen is just so fun and you can feel the amount of love Steven Soderbergh has for these characters and stories. Still holding out hope for Fourteen 😢😂

I also love that Terry is the kind of guy obviously to get revenge... but he did that, and got the money stolen from him in 1. But coming into this, he let it go, cause he could probably ride the PR into other areas to make money, BUT more importantly, he wasn't going to go after ocean for his cut because he saw just what they could do out of spite. And the man had over $193,000,000 dollars anyway, it just wouldn't be worth it. Lovely :)

The ending win.... So many subtlies during this movie. In the planning stage, they were talking about the pain put on to the Diamonds rep. One guy says, "I wouldn't put myself through that for 10 million dollars"! The response was, "Would you do it for 11"? Or something to that effect. The foreshadowing in all of these movies is excellent!

3:12 Myocardial Infarction, is the medical term for a heart attack that my father didn't understand in 97 when a doctor told him that's why he wasn't feeling well a day after a checkup. He then proceeded to work like normal the following morning & lit up his usual cigarette at his desk & proceeded to have another severe one. 🤦‍♂️😂 It's funny now but was not funny then. He died 2 years ago from heart failure, I miss that man.

I enjoyed this one. A step up and back to old form I'd say. Even though the ending in Oceans 12...the whole meet-up at the end... would have been a perfect way to end. David Paymer as "Very Unimportant Person" stole every scene he was in. Hilarious.

At the begging, Danny and Rusty are talking about how much it would take for them to willingly go through all the stuff they were going to put the Diamond guy through. Rusty says it'd take 11 Million and that's what they make sure he gets at the end..

13 is my favorite. Good time vengeance. Vengeance on the dude that put your boy in the hospital and vengeance on the guy that thought he got one up on you. And that other guy that just won't learn his damn lesson😂 11 is really a lot of fun getting to know the characters and getting your girl back. 12 is a really good "fuck yo couch" movie. When I really don't know what to watch these are my go-to movies. Happy you guys enjoyed them

Since you guy liked the series so much you should watch Logan Lucky. It's a spiritual sequel to the Ocean's movies and is written and directed Steven Soderbergh who wrote and directed the Ocean's movies.

Ocean's 8 (2018) isn't bad either but it doesn't do the franchise justice. The cast is great, tho. Worth a watch. I also recommend Takers (2010) with Paul Walker, Hayden Christensen, Chris Brown, T.I., Idris Elba. Do watch The Hitman's Bodyguard (2017) as well if you haven't seen it yet (Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L. Jackson).

I love all these movies, and even though Ocean’s Twelve was not quite as good as Ocean’s Eleven, it was still definitely entertaining. But this one is certainly a return to form. Damn near anything with Al Pacino is going to be great too.
