When I upload the unsigned non-notarized authorization form, I will have to hit the "Final Submit" button to generate the application so that I can notarize both together. So after using "Final Submit" I willcstill have opportunity to Upload/Re upload the notarized authorization form. Have I understood this correctly?

Thanks, both your original video and this update were very useful in preparing the new minor OCI application! One recent update is that they now require a clear notarized copy of the minor's US passport to be included (along with the minor's original US passport) as part of the application package.

Overall a very useful video. For the signing part of the application, - though ur form seems to be accepted , but it does't seem to be logical to put the thumb impression in "*application for minor child" section, it should have the parent's sign. and on the section before that on the main sign area, it should have the name of the child and his thumb impression. [thanks to these super - illogical dumb Indians working in the embassy to make these tiny things super complex , vague, error prone, and confusing ..LOL :D , Sometimes, I think they made it to make it more corruption-friendly probably?? ] BTW in the newer check-list i don't see they are asking to notarize the application form. can you plz confirm for us and update that part?

AT 3:40 You saying to upload the parental authorization form without notary and generate the application form. How can I generate the application in between?. Later on you are saying once all the documents has been uploaded then submit the application. So how to generate the application form in between to get it notarized to avoid 2 trips?. Do i need to final submit the form after uploading parental form (without notary), click on "final submit", generate the Application form. Get both document notarized. Then Final submit again. Does it allows to final submit twice?

Dear Suja, my daughter is Naturalized and has a US passport and no Naturalization certificate. So what do I upload in her case in the government website. VFS documentation says you can submit a notarized letter stating why we no naturalization document in the document submission to VFS. I used that letter to get indian itizenship renounciation done. Informative. Update is that no original passport needs to be sent. Copies of original passport duly notarized must be sent.

Thank you for detailed video. It is very useful. Question - Does minor and parent's signature related content in video still hold good? I see video is slightly old hence question. I am confused looking at page #3 of form. There are two sections 1) Declaration 2) *Application for Minor Child. Both sections have tag "Signature of the Applicant". Based on text written in second section, it feels that parent should sign it. I am confused who should sign in front of "Signature of Applicant" in this section.

I'm applying OCI for minor, when you say "you have send your original passport does that mean it's applicant' Passport or parent's passport?" Its also confusing when you say "your" whom you are referring. So its better to mention as "applicant".

Hi Suja, For OCI minor, As a proof of Valid Legal status, I have sent mine and my wife’s expired Visa’s and I-797C receipt notices, today VFS has sent a email for missing documents stating that I need to provide Valid legal status documents. Should I call and explain that they were already sent (or) resend them again with a cover letter saying that my extension is in process. Everyone is saying that calling VFS is not very helpful. - Thanks

For OCI Card Notary for Minors, I got the notary done in UPS and they did not put the notary stamp on the Application form and Parental authorization form because it does not have the Notary verbiage. But he did provide Notary identity verification forms for both. Will that work or do i need to get the notary stamp done on the Application and Parental authorization form ?

Hi Suja Madam, i submitted my application to vfs on 5th Feb then I saw this news what should I do now [7 February 2021th news Additional requirement for OCI applicants - With immediate effect, all new OCI applicants need to provide a notarized copy of the US passport instead of a self-attested copy. Applications already submitted to VFS are not impacted by the change. For other OCI applicants like Misc / In lieu of PIO etc., the Affidavit in Lieu of Originals must list US passport as one of the documents.] please guide me, Thanks

But I had put self-attested DL copies of mine and my wife's with the application. What am I missing? Should I send this doc again? In your video at timeline 3.33, after we upload the Non-notarized Parental Authorization form, do i have to click on "Final Submit" to generate the form , before notarizing, so that we don't have to notarize it twice? Now only one courier label is generated. Vfs will generate other label by its own and send it . Also no need for money order to be sent

Hi Suja, your video is really helpful, i have a question, in vfs global site it is mentioned that the application packet weight should not be more than .5 lbs or not more than 450 grams. But my kids application , weigh more than that. I tried to have that application below that mentioned weight, but i saw the weight after sending the application. Is that a serious issue?
