These things are fantastic. I had the same thought at first. But I went ahead and got 2. I've been finding great uses for them basically every day since. They're my most used lights at this point.
As a mechanic of only two years. I did not even know that light existed! Thank you for the information. I have several of their AAA and AA flashlights. And I love them! Including my i5T EOS from them! Always in my niteezy pouch with my Leatherman, small crescent wrench, marker and a mini Bic. That light could be useful. Even with all the cons! God bless you. And great video.
I have a bunch of Olights and the I1R keychain light is simply amazing. I'm always completely amazed that something slightly bigger than a pencil eraser can put out so much light and be rechargeable.
Hey, thanks for providing good, practical tool reviews. It’s really valuable to have the expertise of someone who uses tools a lot, and can tell us if something is useful (vs. just being a flashy gadget.) (FYI: A use case for the flashing red light would be for anyone out walking or running after sunset, esp. in a neighborhood without sidewalks. Reflective tape is helpful, but a blinking light adds just a little more safety.)
I've been a fan of Olight for ages. I've used them on all of my hole-punchers except for my duty hole-puncher because the manufacturers of the belt mounted hole-puncher holder haven't designed one to specifically fit Olight attachables. I really like their rechargeables with the magnetic charging points.
Firm believer in Olight. Highly recommend the Prerun mini. Its small wotj a 90 degree head and magnetic base. Easy to throw it up onto something you're working on. It lived outside for a month during the rainy season and came out fine. Cannot recommend it enough.
First time purchasing from this company. It is everything you said it would be. Effective, solid build, I like it very much. Thanks for the recommendation.
I have a few powder actuated tool lights from o light. They seem fine. They do get a lot of hate from the operator bros who pay too much money for some of the other brands, but they never really say why.
Because "They aren't battle tested" and no one gives them any respect when they're LARPing at the range... IE wrong name on the light. I consider these people the same people that look down on anybody that doesn't use snap-on tools or a Daniel defense rifle or ride a Harley or use an iPhone. They just want to drink the Kool-Aid and be in the Cool Kids Club. I have half a dozen Olight weapon lights and I've had zero problems. Plus... It's a light. The gun will still go boom. Not mission critical
Olights for “power actuated hole punchers” are generally regarded as a no-go. Much better options exist for the same price point (ie - Streamlight). Olights handheld/utility lights are great. They are constantly innovating - releasing dozens of new lights a year. The OClip is one of their best new lights and I really like mine. FYI when the light is on you triple tap to get a ping/strobe mode good for search and rescue.
Home depot was going to toss about 10 of those small cheap headlamps because people would steal the batteries or break the hinges. I asked if i could have them, they said sure. I glued a magnet the back on a few and they work perfectly and no bigger than what you have. The olight may be smaller but the other thing I like is it's rechargeable. my hack jobs take 2 aa. As a company, Olight is just awesome. They take their warranty seriously. If you need it. Got 3 on some of my bang bangs and lose set screw once, they sent me a whole new light in 2 days, free.
I have one and these are useful lights. The only downside of these lights is the light color is on the green side. I didn't notice this until I watched a different review and then compared it with other lights. Hopefully Olight will change this in the future.
You do make me spend money, although I don't regret switching to the old man safety razor for a second. And I'm still on the first box of blades since that video came out. Thank you for your service o7
I would be lost without my collection of O'lights. From those on my keychains to larger clip lights. The charged batteries last forever. The magnetic charging system is amazing. Happy Holidays to you and your family!
I’m tempted by this light for the clip option. My magnet light has been rendered almost useless since changing jobs last spring (almost every surface is stainless)
I've carried olights for a long time I really like them they're good flashlight for the price they do get a little warm but as long as you know that you're good
Pretty funny I bought one of these the other day , bright little Fucker. Wish there was a mode where it wasn’t such a direct beam but whatever it’s pretty neat .
Neat, but I don't think it's going to replace my i3t. I carry that little thing everywhere in that little coin pocket in my jeans and the clip can go on the brim of my hat for a quickie headlamp. Instead of a USB charger, it just uses a AAA cell. The boost circuit really kicks out a lot of light somehow!
I got this NEBO rechargeable head lamp 2 years ago and it's tuff and a bit bigger than yours (huehuehue) but what sets it apart is it's 4 settings. Dim, bright, very bright and POWER OF A THOUSAND SUNS.(for about 60 seconds) Not even kidding it's brighter than the arizona sun in the summer.
Would love an update in the future after you've actually used the thing a bit. Maybe after the first job you get into a fat hand dark spot jam pull your phone out and give us a quickie on it's practical application.
I wearing a glove now had on all day , only covers top of your hand and the thumb and pointer finger lights up , they’re awesome and cheap enough to use till battery die and throw away you won’t even notice wearing , “ temu”
Make a small wedge that you can mount in the clip part so that you get an angle when you need a slightly different angle on the light. New thought, you can use a different size nut to adjust the angle of the magnet clip if you need to.
If you're doing a lot of electric work where the color of the cables are important you might want to look for the high cri version. Cri meaning color rendering index, the higher it is the truer the colors will look. If colors are not important the higher the color temperature the more lumens you'll get out of the led. More lumens more light, more cri more colors.
Just don’t forget you stuck it inside an tight spot I lost an olight prerun mini that way never to be seen again it’s probably still there if I ever go back to that company.
Olights are great. Only ones I'm not impressed with are the AA and AAA pen lights that they frequently give away when you're ordering their more expensive lights. I just use them as stocking stuffers. Yes... I bought that many of the more expensive lights. 🤷🏼♂️
@@FunkFPV nice , I bet I can get it for 3$ off temu , of course the quality isn’t top notch but it’s a lot of tools supplies we would only be able to get quality and never buy . I got a baby vice half size of your hand , more to laugh at but it does work lol
And odd clips and fasteners that always come in handy that only mechanics would use or know about is why I like the place , the only bad things is they will blow up your phone offering deals .
Great review. However idk if for the first 5 minutes you were trolling or my hearing is off from years of using impact guns w/o hearing protection, but were you saying “Flesh Light”?
Olight is one of the worst manufacturers. Overpriced, trying to make a cult out of their products, trying to oversell their customers that have fallen for their scam. Do your own research and get an actual good lamp without spending a fortune.
