This kind of 'in depth' tutorial really shows the amazing capabilities of the Octatrack...and of those manipulating it this way, such as yourself. Thanks so much for sharing, this helps so much in the whole learning process !
That was so cool! I tried it and got it the first time! Thank you. Great explanations and the zoom was clear enough to see everything on the screen. Happy to be subscribed.
ooo I just had an idea. Perhaps you could make a partner video which explains this video. So you release them in pairs. one is quick. the other explains the decisions you made to create the first video.
Thank you very much for this tutorial! I recently got an octatrack, and it is so different from the digitakt and digitone. My DT muscle memory is tripping me up, hehe. I'm looking forward to digging through your tutorials again, great work!
@@EZBOT_ for a definition of "fun" I don't get :P But seriously in bitwig I have a template that makes 64 item long sample chains that are all pre processed and level equalised, just drag a folder of samples and hit "render to wav" and you're done in like 10 seconds.
Really a clear way to transmit knowledge, like that!🌚 Would be happy to learn more about performance with it (interaction and transition of parts, banks, patterns and so on)...
Great demonstration of creating an Octachain but how do *you* use it? For me this chain of snares would make it function like an expression controlling device for making more realistic and detailed beats: ghosts, stick, short envelope, ringing, loud, Piano etc. When I have thought of doing this I thought create in Ableton, drop in the audio pool and make beats. You’ve shown how to do this DAWless.
Your tutorials are amazing, thank you so much. One question though, what is the main advantage over sample locking? I can see that it allows for randomness and frees up sample slots, but are there any other advantages my octa-limited brain doesn’t comprehend yet?
Nice tutorial, thank you! when the samplechain is finished and saved to flextrack 2 can you use track 1 for whatever you like? - T1 is not related or connected to T2 in any way, is this right? thanks.
Would there be any issue with recording this on a higher or lower bpm? Is there a way to make it play back your steps independent of whatever tempo you're on for the recording? Thanks!
