My son loves the "Sunscreen and Subscribe" part that Dr Dray says. Each time we put on sunscreen - we "sunscreen & subscribe" out loud :) Thank you Dr Dray for saving our skin !
I have the cleanser and it is the best gentle facial cleanser I have tried. (Dare I say better than Cerave?) And I have been meaning to purchase the serum and the moisturizer, but for me it costs quite a lot for the product amount personally. But I know I would thoroughly enjoy them if I did purchase them. How long has yours lasted?
What’s your skin type? Super interested in this but I try to only buy if it’s worked well with others with oily skin. Dray has such perfect skin I have no idea what her type is 😂
I bought the Aveeno moisturizer from your link based on your recommendation. I am a 64 year old man... and... it's absolutely WONDERFUL, imho. Thank you Dr. Dray... I have bought and tossed SO MANY moisturizers in the past years. I'm sticking with this one for at least the winter months. It's so light weight... I quickly forget that I have it on.
I've spent almost a month viewing some of your videos. The last 2 month, i began to start the skincare routine according your advices. Trying to scavenge every product you recommend to us. I'm so glad to say that i do notice my skin getting better. Thank you so much. I am addicted to hear "well, hey guys" for daily basis now.
I think no matter the nail polish you use, it's all about not having oil on your fingernails and base and top coat. I love the SacheVite quick dry top coat. I can go 2 weeks no problem when I use that topcoat.
I used to think skincare was overwhelming and complicated because I didn’t know what to use, how to use or when to use products. then I met Dr. Dray and my life changed!! Simple, simple, simple! Thank you Dr. Dray ❤️
The herb garden is looking radiant and flourishing so well!! I find it important to have a hobby or two especially in the dark seasons. My partner and I are working on our tropical fish tank project during our new lockdown. So excited to buy the fish once the tank is primed up. Happy Monday all! 💕💕💕🇬🇧
The Aveeno calm + restore oat gel moisturizer has Sorbitan Olivate and Cetearyl Olivate, which come from olives. I know before in a video you've talked about olive oil being bad for your skin and leading to transepidermal water loss. Is it different in these forms?
Love your video's! Totally agree on the sally hansen nail polish, it's the best one I've found. I use on my toes and it lasts for a month + with very little chipping. I use the salon manicure, insta-dry, and hard as nails.
I love all these videos and your no nonsense approach. You mention that the skin on the chest is very sensitive. What is the best way to fortify the chest area ravaged by too much time in the sun during my reckless youth? Thank you for helping me get wiser. 😉
Definitely Sally Henson nail polish is great- there’s a variety called X-treme wear that is great. In general, the darker the color, the harder to maintain.
Right! Who knew a drug store nail polish could be better than OPI. It’s true though. Sally Hansen is the best. I like colors of Essie but for quality Sally Hansen is the strongest and least likely to chip. Still use their top coat no matter which I use.
Sally Hansen products are great! The Good Kind Pure line is Vegan but also long wearing and has a great assortment of colors. Hard as Nails Hardener is a really good product if you have splitting and cracking. Also, Sally Hansen Color Therapy has a line of beautifiers that have always worked well for me, including a nail and cuticle oil.
I paint my nails all the time and I hate when they chip so I use Essie nail polish they also have a gel topcoat that you can put over it and it keeps them from chipping and it works good ! By the way I just wanted to say how much I enjoy your videos and I’m really glad that I found you on RU-vid you’ve done so many videos for eczema that has helped me out tremendously so I do want to say thank you I do appreciate that
I love the “I am from honey” mask for dryness if anyone needs a good recommendation. FYI - it looks like honey...but it doesn’t taste like honey. Don’t ask how I know. 😔
Thanks! This video is very nice. I will be trying the CR cleansing balm. It sounds like a nice pick me up for my evening skin care (plus it’s currently on sale).
I suggest wiping down the nail surface with alcohol or acetone prior to application and checking out the miracle gel 2 step system. I’ve used the instant try polishes the brand but I find that it chips within 2-3 days and I get much better wear with the miracle gel color and top coat(aka glossy taco).
My gosh, that aerogarden! I wish I could have thaaat! It seems really cute :) and I wish the olipop sodas are available globally!!! As I don’t drink alcohol beverages as well, I am very very curious to try those!
For nails I highly recommend Essie Gel Couture. It's not actually gel- it comes off with normal polish remover. For me, it's the only nail polish that truly lasts a full week with no chipping.
Yes I dislike OPI as well. Try out Essie "Gel" (no lights needed) you can just buy the top coat and will seal in whatever colour you want to use. Longer Wear, less chips!
My daughter has one and I had to show her to clip Basil from the centre stem to make to plant bushy and not the larger leaves on the bottom. watch out for aphids with spraying diluted dish soap in water.
Read that book via audio while driving to work, which was a total of two hours. Loved it and had the words “she loves, she mourns” inscribed on back of a watch!!!
OPI is what I get at my salon. The key is to use a clear base coat and a top coat after applying the colour. This should lock everything in. My colour lasts about 2 weeks. Re Sally Hanson ...their Diamond Strength is awesome but again, you need to use a base coat/colour/top coat otherwise you colour will peel off the next day 🤷♀️
As always, Dr. Dray, you're the best! Going to try the Olipops. Those sound yummy!! Need some new moisturizer as I''m out of the CeraVe tub and going to try the Aveeno one. Also, need a cleansing balm so I'm picking up the Inkey List one today at Sephora. Hoping the sale includes Inkey products. Thanks so much for your reviews and recommendations!
I am a nail polish addict- do you use a base and top coat? That has made a giant difference to my nail polish not chipping and staying on. You do have to figure out what works with your body chemistry- I love Orly Bonder base coat and I personally use Seche Vite quick dry top coat- and do use a quick dry top coat so you can get back to your life quickly! Love your videos!
For nail polish you should try the ESSI nail polish in the twister bottle! (make sure to apply the top coat from the same line also, it makes all the difference!!). I have a hard time too with my nails chipping right away and that line from essi is the only one that has worked for me!
I am all about Essie nail polishes. I have usedthem for so many years ...since I first saw them many, many years ago . I pretty much only use the sheer ones like Ballet Slippers, Muchi Muchi , and Mademoiselle . They last forever , and just wear off not chip off . They have made these colors since the very beginning and I think if they're smart they will keep them and not change the formula . A girl can always hope ! LOL Karen M . Plano, TX
Love the book recommendations ♥️♥️👍🏻👍🏻 You’re taking great care of my skin and now helping with my ravenous book appetite. You win best RU-vidr. A million subscribers soon. Exciting!
Yes, the book recommendation got me back to my audiobooks. If you enjoyed MGAMTTYSS recommendation, I suggest you try: Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman.
You should try the gel polish strips. There are a lot of brands. My favorites are called dashing diva. They are very easy to put on and they last 2-3 weeks without chipping and I work in healthcare.
I haven't tried the I'm From rice mask yet, but the toner is excellent. I also like the Thank You Farmer rice toner, maybe even more. I appreciate the description of the mask's texture; kind of surprised me.
Happy Monday Dr Dray!!!! You have got me so interested in The Differen Resurfacing Cream, that and the dark spot syrum...I can't wait to try these!!! I'm also thinking about getting my husband one of those herb garden things for his birthday. He loves to grow things plus he loves to cook..so I'm thinking that would be a great choice. Hope you have a great rest of your day!!! Oh and I can't wait till your Christmas Decorating Video!! 🙂😜
Dr Dray thanks for sharing all you know with us! I was considering a subscription to a beauty monthly box for skincare and make up and would love to know what do you think about these monthly boxes and trying different products every month.
Sally Hanson Miracle Gel polishes are the only polishes that stay on long enough to be worth my time. They look great for at least 5 days, and when they do start to wear off it's generally just along the very edge of the nail, so it doesn't look that bad. You can get away with wearing it for at least a week. When I tried the topcoat once or twice I found it performed worse than without. But that could have been user error.
Dr Dray! I love seeing all your reviews, I’ve learned so much! It’s so encouraging to see women in medicine because I would also like to become a physician. So thank you for being a role model!!! May I recommend a skin care line for you to try? The anti-aging regimen from MDGLAM by Dr. Cat seems to be pretty different since it was made my a plastic surgeon, but it’s pretty pricey. I know you say that things don’t have to be expensive to work but I’ve been eyeing the MDGLAM skin care for about 2 years because of all its claims but I can’t seem to get myself to purchase it. I would be so thankful if you could let me know if I’d be wasting my money or not. Thank you so much for helping us all go to the dermatologist without leaving our rooms!
I'm not big on "influencer brands" and have never bought one before but the quality of the Holo Taco nail polish is seriously unmatched by any other nail polish ive tried
I just discovered a great nail polish topcoat. It is the Olive and June brand and can be purchased from Target. Definitely adds longevity to any nail polish.
Try prepping your nails by pushing cuticles back, using polish remover to get the oils off your nails before painting. Also use a base coat and top coat to get more days out of your manicure. If you wash your hands alot then polish wont last as long. Try a Shellac manicure in that case to see if it lasts for you. I used to do hair and nails. Have you tried Purito K beauty? I have been using their 97%Galactomyces w 5% Niacinamide essence for about a month and am loving it! I have dry skin with hyperpigmentation and some small wrinkles and I am 50. Also have their sleeping mask with centella. Is beta-glucan a good ingredient for hydration and im looking into Tranaxemic acid for hyperpigmentation? Thank you for all the great content on RU-vid!!
Try essie gel couture line for nail polish! No base coat needed but you need to get the top coat in the line. Those polishes should last longer on you.
I have heard that the press on nail stickers work well, are easy to use, last 2 weeks cost, less than a manicure at a salon and don't harm nails, just peel off. Might be worth a try.
I had the same problem almost with all the nail polishes. Everytime I washed my hands they chipped. Even in the same day. So I started using the 3 in 1 semipermanent nail polish...I was pleasantly surprised. I dry them in UV or LED lamp (50$ for the lamp) and it lasts me forever. I can honestly say that was the best investment for my nails. I got one nude color (the polish was about 10 bucs) and I still have some of it after 10 months.
Watched a video where you talk about how biotin isn’t effective for hair/skin/nail growth so I would LOVE to see a video highlighting supplements or vitamins that are effective !!! Love your channel it’s the best 😊❤️
I think biotin is v necessary - my thinning hair was transformed to the point of covering a huge balding crown. After almost 20 years of trying miscellaneous stuff only the biotin supplements actually grew any kind of meaningful hair!
@@moominmay well she did say outside of an actual deficiency so maybe you had that and congrats to your hair growth !!! for most people to it just causes acne sadly 😭
I was talking to a client today in my chair and he mentioned he's still taking the hair Skin and nails, over a year. Didn't notice any hair growth but his nails are growing like crazy. I shared no real proof that biotin grows hair. I thought maybe from a placebo effect. Didn't work for me. I have bouts of alopecia
@@dianehall3943 sorry to hear that. It definitely works for me - v v slowly but I’m grateful still. I hope you find something that can help you. It’s a soul destroying condition and I still have to employ several hacks before I can walk out my door 🤍
@@MsMonchichi15 thanks 😊. I didn’t previously know about the acne side effect so feel doubly blessed. I have a good way to go yet but progress is progress!
I am trying the indeed labs watermelon cleansing balm right now and I love it! Thank you for recommending it. My first ever cleansing balm was the oat cleansing balm and I was worried I wouldn’t find one that was as good. However, that one is always sold out and I actually like the Indeed labs balm more. Thanks!
Defy and Inspire nail lacquer is the best hands down. It stays on and goes on so smooth. I can only find it at Target, but try it and see what you think :)
If you invest in a good quality base coat and top coat, you can make any nail polish last. I use and recommend Holo Taco’ long last base coat and glossy top coat. My home manicures last at least a week without a chip.
I think they’re being phased out, but 100 Percent Pure polishes are amazing. I have a bunch of colors, don’t use a base or top coat with them and they don’t chip for days. Essie is good too. I find with the Opi you have to use the base coat and top coat to make them last. I don’t always have the patience for that! Thanks for the vid, have a great day!
Sally hansen miracle nail step one and two! The step 2 is basically a top coat and it really seals the deal. Cristine aka SimplyNailogical's indie nail polish brand HoloTaco is fantastic! Her super glossy taco and glossy taco are probably the best top coats on the market. It's thick and gloopy, and dries hard as rocks but doesn't have a shrinkage issue like most top coats do when they harden, which causes your nail to start feeling tight and curving inwards.
If you want a good nail polish that lasts try Makartt. Its gel and seal with a uv light. It last for a week or 2 and doesnt chip for me. I cant stand it when it chips either sometimes after one shower others start coming off. This stuff is hard to get off youd have to soak your nails
I'm not sure about the fingernails, cuz I'm as frustrated as you about chipping. I'm a barber and of course constantly washing my hands. However the Sally Hansen insta dri, on your toes is the bomb! Doesn't chip at all for weeks. I do about every two weeks, cuz they need to be cut. Shared with my daughter and she agreed, oh yeah I don't use anything else
Do you use a base coat and top coat, that makes a difference in the nail polish lasting? The base coat protects your nail from drying out and helps to adhere the polish to your nail. The top coat seals it all in.
I'm finally using the Cerave tinted sunscreen and wow. Compared to the Australian Gold one, the Cerave sunscreen looks miles better on my skin. It's just too matte on the skin and looks flakey. Thanks for the Cerave recommendation!
Hello Dr. Dray! I just want to say that I have been loving your videos and how informative they are. I am just so confused about what to do with my skincare routine. All the information available online is just making me so confused about what to do. I am wondering how on earth I am to decide between the thousands of products and ingredients available to me so I can finally settle on a routine that works well.
