I have been well aware of what has been going on in Gaza for years. It has been no secret but the media doesn't care until things go against what some consider humane behaviour. What I can't understand is, why has Egypt kept the doors locked to the Palestinians too.
Long before Oct 7th Jeremy Corbyn was the only major western political leader seriously raising the issue of Palestinian oppression and for that reason he was destroyed by all and sundry as an anti semite. He was giving Palestinians a voice that would probably have hindered oct 7th desperate and horrific act. But Palestinians weren’t allowed to have a major voice in the western political world.

The documentary refers to a major Israeli base near the border that was totally undefended. It seems deliberate. Those fighters expected to die. So just like Hamas deeming civilians expendable for the cause - it looks like Israel sacrificed Israelis in order to secure the invasion of Gaza.

When Owen uses the term: "civilians" is he taking into account the fact that nearly all Israelis serve as reservists when they are not on active duty and that most of the these "civilians" have firearms?
Likewise most Palestinians are somehow associated with Hamas in one fashion or another. "Civilian" here means someone who is at the time not baring arms and currently not serving in a military compacity. Most Israelis can be classified as IDF and most residents of Gaza can be classified as Hamas, broad definitions allow atrocities.
Thing is, the occupied is all civilians, even if armed. The occupier is all military, even if unarmed. It's not a war between two armies and there are civilians on both sides. No, there's the occupier, and the occupied... Don't use same logic between two fighting armies to put on Palestine, that's totally wtong

I made it to about 50 mins of the documentary before I started crying, as a recent father myself the images of the dead Palestinian children will haunt me, even though I knew this has been going on for decades and thought I had become almost desensitised to the violence. There can never be justice on stolen land. Free Palestine!

I remember in the first golf war in Iraq. They got a 15 yo girl to say she witnessed babies being pulled from incubators and thrown from hospital windows. Of coarse she admitted years later that she was ask to make the whole thing up. Her story helped convince the public to go into Iraq.

Owen, almost half of those killed were Israeli security forces so to say “most” were civilians is wrong. Second, you do not seem to recognize that Hamas did not just attack civilians; they defeated Israel’s Gaza Division, attacking many military objectives and capturing many prisoners of war.

So the information about the Apache helicopter operations claim that every single helicopter put in the air against the Oct 7 attacks used every single piece of their ammunition they were carrying. That sort of firepower used on targets where they can't distinguish clearly who they are firing on would really suggest there would be quite significant Israeli casualties to me, that's an incredible amount of indiscriminate firepower.
