They don’t really mean anything just things I think/thought looked good/cool at the time. The special ones are the smallest and probably look like nothing.
I felt the same about Open Water and that's the first time I heard someone not rave about it, which was kinda refreshing. We Have Always Lived in the Castle is one of my favs and if you enjoyed it you might also like My Sister the Serial Killer. It's not gory but also an examination of horror that is other people, mainly family members.
Great video! Did you read Rachel Cusk's The Bradshaw Variations already? Im reading it right now. I loved the outline trilogy, they are my favorite books, but I agree about Cusks other fiction books, they are good, but maybe I always expect a bit more? Curious about your Cusk wrap-up video to hear more :)
A Life's Work is actually the only book by Rachel Cusk I liked. I was quite meh about Outline and bailed on two other of her novels. I also enjoyed We Always Have Lived in the Castle more than The Lottery, but the book I liked the most by her so far is Life Among the Savages, which is mostly autobiographical.
forever reminding me that i need to up my cusk reading! i think at the edge of the woods by kathryn bromwich might be a good book for your unsettling human behaviour craving at the moment. i could only ever hope to be this concise!! a really good wrap-up x
Yaaay your upload is here! 🎉 I really need to dive into cusk next year and im excited to get to a life’s work i feel like i’ll be so seen. Hmm too many ppl are praising open throat as fun and enjoyable for me to ignore any further. Libby hold for the audiobook is placed. I also really need to read that shirley jackson, and o caledonia!! So many exciting reading plans for the imminent future ❤
