lol yeah, I just beat Galdera yesterday for the first time and on the very first turn it killed two of my characters, who were at full health. The strategy on this video is the definition of high risk, high reward!

I mean they're at max level so my guess is their speed is stupid high

for a reason, I think it depends on the characters' speed, i think but the abbysal maw act at the end, so that was REALLY lucky

Beating this final is still one of my proudest gaming achievements, cant believe Octopath is almost 3 years old

It was a little busted in the first game.

GG. I just finished chapter 1 of half the characters and this superboss seems so brutal in some videos, that I don't even want to continue to add 100+ hours, just to get destroyed. I still got to learn about this game, what characters to equip with which role and so on, but I respect you for beating that thing and the dungeon bosses before. Ggwp

@@lost_in_nightcity I probably have to add that this game is one of my favorite RPGs ever. Its definitely has its problems but it is 100% is amongst my top...and i played everything since the Snes era from Breath of Fire 1234, Suikoden 1/2, Valkyrie Profile 1/2, Star Ocean 1/2, almost all Final Fantasies etc...etc.. plus you dont really have to take on Galdera. Its really more of a crazy self challenge. He comes after completing the 4th chapters of everyone. Enjoy!

@@punchabunchabuttons hey, sorry for borhering you, but is there a specific team you use and do both 4 man teams have the same sub jobs etc? I started with H'anit as damage dealer, Ophilia as healer and Cyrus as elemental attacker. Don't know what fourth party member I should get/what sub jobs and if team 2 should be a copy of team one in terms of classes and sub jobs. Thank you in advance, take care.

@@lost_in_nightcity i hadnt noticed the reply sorry. I dont know how relevant this will be after 2 months... The combination are so many you can have your own team and beat him your way... Now this boss has two steps. The first part where you need to emphasize on magic and find someone that has high damage input for the kill and the second part is exactly the same but more about physical to magic. Both party needs a healer and a buffer. The attackers can aid in healing and the healers can aid in breaking defences.. In the first stage, the weak point is protected by all these creatures that have to die all at once or he will stay invincible. I thought that first phase was harder btw... the second part is about getting rid of all his surroundings parts one by one while not dying from all their attacks. If you survive untill one of his part is dead then you know youll win coz it gets easier. Hardest part is the start of the second phase. One of the most importand part is the 4 job support skills you allocate to your guys. I personnally had saving grace and hang tough to almost all of them and my high damage input guys all had surpassing limit... and some others according to each of their roles in the battle. I know how vague this all sounds but thats how crazy balanced this game is... unless of cource you break it whit whatever these players are doing in this video... Man typing this reply is so fun, makes me wanna dive in the game again.

It is very satisfying to beat Galdera. These videos make it look easy but for most normal people out there it was a grueling battle that when won it is very satisfying. So Congrats on beating it!

Unfortunately, this strategy needs luck. If Galdera use multi-target spell in the first turn that's over. Also, this strategy needs perfect turn orders. I think that's nearly 1/200 chances. probably using the correct weapon, using the correct weapon with the highest magic attack will deal more damage, and probably the right combination of passive skills

@@VamVami So technically 999 isn't the max. Or are you talking about the passive skills that increase the base damage but not the stat itself?

@@meeladalailan5475 yeah talking about the passive skills that increases damage, not just base stats. although i just read some comment down there that said level have something to do with increasing damage as well despite having the same stats

@@VamVami You can grab certain weapons that offer huge elemental bonuses. Pair that with break damage, elemental and magic buffs, last stand, etc, plus making sure the enemy is broken, and you have a recipe for an extremely high damage output.

You can infer what's going on from the footage. Tressa has double stacked +wind damage equipment, Elemental Aid, Augmented Elements, Elemental Edge, and BP Eater. Ophilia is using Battle tested axe, Bishop's Staff, and Harald's Sword (when using Balogar at 1:33 the fire, ice, lightning, and light damage did more than shadow and wind magic) Cyrus is also using bishop staff + light rune. Both Olberic and Therion are using the Fortitude + BP Eater + Physical Prowess combination.

If you refer to Cyrus hitting the eye 8 times, then i'ts an axe called "Double Tomahawk" found in Ogen's Epilogue that will double the times you strike an opponent with that axe.

テスト already reformed my build, this is the list of 2nd jobs team 1 sorcerer surpassing power + bp eater + elemental edge + elemental aid runelord same as sorcerer hunter(ophilia) boost-start replace bp eater scholar(h'aanit) augmented elements replace bp eater team 2 warmaster surpassing power + bp eater + fortitude + physical powers apothecary same as warmaster alfyn cover + fleetfoot + elemental edge + physical powers cleric same as alfyn but no cover

Tressa's runemaster skills: "transfer rune" followed by a magic from that class that will be transferred to everyone's weapons because of "transfer rune". You can do massive damage.

It can be cheesed if you know what you're doing.

One of the thoughest for sure. The multi-double boss is hell. The First stage Is long but feasable, the second Is literally impossible. After a couple of turns, 2nd galdera casts you everything: aoe multi magic, debuffs, fierce single target attacks, field magics, blocks. And you must be lucky in between turns, since he can easily combine two aoe attacks and wipe you out insta. My opinion: stay away from this boss (lv99 Is grinding with LV 58 mobs and it takes ages even with bewielding grace), and you literally have no option but to use broken-driven builds.

levels barely do anything this game it's equipment and support skills

@@bonkbonk98 high level is important for fast kill, a level 99 character with 999 elemental attack will do more damage than a level 50 one with 999

Levels are useless in Octopath. Damage depends on multipliers, buffs, equipment, and support skills. For example, Battle Tested Blade (1.3x) Bp Eater (1.5x) and physical buffs (1.5x). Add Fortitude and Critical damage and you get 11x the damage your normally do. Then you take into account the armor debuff, and whether or not you're hitting weaknesses (1.3x) or if the enemy is broken (2x).
