A Maori Octopus seemed to have selected its lair wisely. There was no need to leave home to hunt food. The smart Cephalopod had taken up residence right in the path of the annual migration of Spider crabs. .
Either crabs don't recognise dead crabs or they do & even come to pay their respects... ....very similar to humans visiting graves of loved ones. Amazing! 🤣😂🤣
Does this take place over a single day or multiple days? In other words, how many crab per day did this guy eat? Also, name of artist and song? I’m a sucker for melancholy piano tunes 😀
Very interesting how Maori, Vulgaris, GPO, etc, all leave a mess in their “front yard”, while the Cocunut Octopus and many of the Abdopus Aculeatus I’ve seen take more risk to carry the remains of their prey far away from their den (or makeshift den in the case of the Cocunut Octopus).
