I've watched a lot of American barbecue videos and I love them. I even had a trip to the USA booked in April, partly to eat barbecue but had to cancel because the world went mad. The breakdown is typically a dude who bought some cow or pig from a supermarket, cooks it on an expensive smoker and flavours it with various powders also bought from a supermarket.. The comments are full of guys exclaiming the excellent dude food and aren't we all manly men. This is a woman cooking animals she caught with her bare hands and killed with her own teeth, three different ways at the same time, using stuff in her backyard, with one hand because the other is holding a stinky baby. I'm feeling slightly less manly.
So proud of you Kimmy 4 showing true meaning of living the way you do for the reasons you do so proud of you harvesting from the Aina with respect love you for that passing on the knowledge it has been given to you good stuff hope all good things to you and yours aloha

From watching you on TEDx talks, catching a ride on a great white was gone for a few to start a family and now your back you are such an amazing woman. I still remember what you said about a free diving tournament in murky water that you can hear the fish. Absolutely love your outdoor kitchen you got that old style and modern style in sync. Thank you for keeping the old style popular.
I love this comment more than I can express! And I can’t thank you enough for following along in this beautiful journey. Your support means so much to me!
I love how chill, peaceful, homie and down to earth your videos are especially with your son. Feels like a real person video instead of some other dramatic , intense videos. I feel like I'm in the backyard with you guys cooking. Keep being you and making videos.
My grand-fathet used to take me hunting for tako at Papa'a Bay on Kauai. Seeing you fry tako brings back those memories of my grandpa and I hunting tako with the tako box. Thank you for sharing your experience. 🤙

OK... now you are just taunting me. :-) I LOVE OCTOPUS! It is one of my favorite treats and a go-to item when I see it offered at a restaurant. Haven't tried making it and thought you did an amazing job managing all the various methods at the same time (plus Buddy). Watching you try it at the end had my mouth watering! OK... now I'm hungry.

I live in the mainland now and my brother brought me back a few ziplocks of takos. He normally prepares it for us but I don't have that luxury anymore. Thank you for this! I was really unsure on where to start!

Hello Kimi! My mom and I were thrilled to see your drying table. Usually when we dry fish, we just hang them in hangers or in a flat surface out in the sun and when its time to gather them, HUGE flies would swarm around and it always gives me the paranoia that they would get in my ears, nose etc! Its a nightmare! But now, were gona try and make one like your drying table! Why didn't we think of that before, its genius! Thank u for sharing!
Eek! My 13 y/o son was like mom did you see Aunty Kimi’s newest video? LOVE that you made a RU-vid Channel. Introduced my kiddos to you through Fish People and now they’re hooked! They recently started diving for shells... thank you for being you and inspiring us!
Kimi all of Hawaii loves you. I wish I had the chance to meet you but I did meet Garret years ago and Kylie is a friend. Derek Hara practically watched me grow up in Ka'u. I wish you could teach my son your awesomeness 🤙🤙🤙🤙♥️♥️♥️
Oh my gosh, your little one is so precious. I also really admire the appreciation and care you take in preparing the Tako. I will definitely be trying this recipe.
Being Samoan, when l was growing up me mum used to prepare it as you did and then bake it in the oven in a Coconut Cream miki with Onion... To die for is the Only term to describe the taste; Next to Umu'd Pork... Gr8 Clip Guys, Mum Dad & The Buddy...
This is exceptional - I do wish my neighbours were you - the backyard smells and enthusiasm for alfresco cooking/wild food is off the scale on this channel 🧜🏼🔥🧘🏼♂️
I found your channel through Mark Healey's channel and I'm so glad that I did. You have such a kind soul. I grew up and live in Florida where my father taught me the importance of harvesting your own food. I look forward to more of your content.
your videos are the bomb. I always share them, to try and educate my east coast homies. I don't understand why you don't have a million subscribers, but I never did like crowds. Mahalos for sharing your knowhows.
That was so cool, I've been trying different ways to cook Occy for years, you have given me some more new ideas so appreciative of you sharing that video! Thanks for the fun, that looked delicious!
Just discovered that Kimi has a channel now and have been binge watching. Excited to try out her recipes and watch more diving hunts! Lovin these 🔥 content! Cheers from SoCal USA
Hi Kimi! I’m just watching a lot of your videos and oh my gosh! I’m very interested in trying to follow your cooking techniques. Your son buddy is so handsome. You are a great example for the beauty of Love and affection. And you show this on all of your videos. Your attention to your raising of your family. Your skills as a provider by hunting and fishing and cooking even! Good bless you! I am wondering if you could show us how to make or fabricate a dry box? Just like the one you use in this video. Dimensions and material to use? This would help me make a different kind of food creative course for me to share with my family. Thank you Ms Kimi and Aloha! to you and your family. 😊🤙🏽
I love watching your videos. You should try cracking open a brown coconut and let it burn slowly under your homemade meat dryer. It’s pretty much smoking it with coconut flavor. Goes great for drying fish too or other meat.
Now I see why Mac, Indiana and Jedidiah love this video 🤙🏽 Mac made pulehu he’e after going diving yesterday. It’s always nice eating fresh caught seafood. Thanks for being such an inspiration. I hope next time we see you the kiddos can come too and help cook 👩🍳
