Something I found useful if you are planning to stand still or have a small walk space, just lay out a blanket that you don’t mind cleaning after. It gives padding to your feet but also lets you know where you might be.

For those with low ceilings or rooftops, remind yourselfs of how high you can go with the controllers! Already smacked my controllers twice into the roof, you easily tend to forget that, luckily they're still working perfectly fine. The Rift S has been amazing so far!

After owning the Rift S for a few days coming from original I must say it’s got its ups and downs.. 1. If you’re playing shooters and need to view down the guns scopes, red dots or iron sights, It’s nearly impossible. The control gets close to your face.. In result, the in game hand tweaks out and you’re just better off hip firing. This happens because the controller gets to close to the sensors on the headset. Only solution is holding the gun super far from your face but it feels so unnatural. Hopefully they come out with an update allowing us to also use our old sensors to eliminate this! 2. Controllers feel unbalanced compared to originals (since the ring is on the top). When reloading a gun or doing anything that involves nearly touching your hands together, the rings touch each other and it takes you out of the experience of being in VR. You’re limited. Other than that the quality is superior, you can read small text, personally I haven’t noticed screen door effect once! The all around design / head strap is miles better then OG rift! Speakers are actually super clear and work great.

I'm graduating today (May 21st) I'm hoping I get $400 from family and relatives and best buy having atleast one in stock. Never bought a VR Headset that wasn't cardboard(lol). The lack of sensors not on the headset is what made me want to get it. Here's hoping!!

3 years later still doesn't mention orange light means headset or controller needs to be in view range. So many people sitting at their desktop re-plugging usb cables xD

by far the best vr company in production and marketting, maybe not the best headsets but their affordable and give nearly the same experiences as a good cosmo or index

I am thinking hard of getting this for the increased resolution, but I am really bummed bout losing the audio the Rift offers.. Also would love to combine the inside out tracking with at least 1 base sensor.

Thanks for the tutorial. Didnt know you had to open the box to set up the thing which would have made things very difficult for me. Gonna come in very handy in about a year when the Oculus Rift S is finally back in stock.

had the best thumbstick and layout, other are roo stiff so its hard to slowly turn amd hit a sweet spot

I would say this looks pretty cool but I cannot see anything on my rift s due to the fact that I don’t have a Display Port.

I regret not getting this, I got a quest instead because I thought it will be nice being untethered but now I noticed that it doesn’t have the same store as the rift.

Everytime I go to select my profile picture on the app it just takes me to a blank grey screen and just freezes

PSA: if you have trouble with tracking while aiming a gun, or lose tracking after the controller vibrates or when you shoot Check the USB port you're connected to Mine had problems with a USB 3.1 gen 2 port, switched to a a regular usb 3 port and the tracking worked fine again. Sometimes if the hub is used a lot users have reported problems as well. If you have issues getting the display to turn on, try unplugging a display if you use multiple displays. I have heard that the controllers and tracking also work better on those li-ion rechargable batteries that give out 1,5 volt per battery. Get yourself a couple of them. Oculus rift chews through batteries

Took me months to set mine up 😂 because I finally realized I needed a usb 3.0 for my computer. Gorn is my fav. P.S. I also had the controller batteries in backwards 🤣 that made me LMFAO

I love how it shows option of storage drives when there isnt it just assumes i hot to go through extensive bs to get it to work properly

Can you use a USB 3.0 extension cable? Is the cable that connects to your headset able to be disconnected? I'd like to run the cables through the wall to my computer and plug in the headset when I want to use it.
