After being pushed out at Facebook, Palmer Luckey is focused on equipping soldiers with better technology. He tells CNN's Laurie Segall why AI is the key to staying ahead of Russia and China.
Well they only allow people to freely talk when it comes to technology and also democrats can talk about anything.. notice the tech companies are all liberals.
@@patguitar01 Well said and you are spot on. Celebrating a merchant of death. Yeah not to sure that's the way life should be celebrated. Kind of makes absolutely no sense.
It’s so rare to see an interview where the subject is brilliant and fascinating, and the journalist is equally superb. A real match of enthusiasm and knowledge.
@@patguitar01 that’s just being ignorant. If you listen to his take on China you would know that it’s all about INTENTIONS. 1984 will not happen to USA if we EDUCATE our youth / next generations and maintain the CHECK AND BALANCES of our government. What we need is constant reformation. NEVER BE COMFORTABLE & ALWAYS CHOOSE PROGRESSION. Why I think people like Snowden did the USA a favor for making sure ACCOUNTABILITY is upheld. So don’t go putting your ignorance on others. Choose to try to understand others instead of you screaming your truth onto them. Maybe that way there can be mutual discourse & we can mutually learn from each of our convictions. So we can understand you. That’s the way. Not being afraid of a exacerbated conspiracy theory.
He makes valid points about defense technology. The interviewer mentions gaming. In computer science, you do learn game theory, and some wars involve game theory concepts.
From the start of the interview, after every response, she (CNN) tries to pose the same question. Why are you not part of this cancel culture? His deflection skills are on point. He never hesitated to set her straight on every statement. She can’t accept his point that this should not be a political tool. It should be for every American to have the freedoms they currently have. Palmer Lucky is well spoken man. I appreciate him deflecting her on all these liberal questions.
This guy is smart. And if you look at his technology, I would say its more democrat then republican, democrats actually said that a boarder wall is not needed and surveillance and sensing technology is best for boarder security.
I really enjoy Palmer's explanations and descriptions of the technology he's developing. He speaks my language = tech, and I understand everything he's talking about. I hope he continues to create great solutions that save lives and makes the world a much safer place, against all odds. Keep up the great work, Palmer Luckey!
Great interview on both of their parts! I just started 3D printing my own RC cars with hopes to implement more advance technology that could used remotely (besides controlling the driving of the car itself)
Shes also a great interviewer I think in part because she brought her actual opinions and worries towards the topic of defense technology and technology in general.
No trust for CNN, but at least this guy was given the opportunity to speak. He could run CNN and direct them toward journalistic integrity, not subjective junk.
Seems like that can be done in a general sense where their identity is never disclosed or logged. For instance a heat signature may be used to determine that an individual is carrying a weapon and therefore a threat, but their personal identity wouldn't necessarily be known or recorded
If you build powerful tools which scale up extremely well, by design it could be used by a group of less and less people (converging to one) over more and more people (converging to population minus one). Now Luckey is an interesting mind and a very fast one. He certainly adds to the debate of ideas.
I know this is an old upload but... why did the interviewer keep interjecting the fact Palmer and his team were eating Chick-fil-A? My guess is that the left and the interviewer's parent company still wish Palmer, and those that differ in opinion from them, ill-will. Just my .02 cents...
I can’t help but think this interviewer is trying to trap Palmer into expressing some opposing political viewpoint. He is so far ahead of her, she could never catch up.
I like how this guy makes good stuff to protect America with deference and all. It would be nice to see AR huds not only for a real titanfall pilot but also these firefighters and somebody who’s friend has a heart attack and is being taught what to do by her implant. I wonder how to reach conclusions sooner, kind of confusing world.
I love this brother for his personal character, ethical beliefs and value system. When men with such qualities are also very smart and have vision, the world becomes a better place, even for the liberal lefties who hate him.
How is VR/AR technology used in autonomous self piloting systems? Will this technology allow for near seamless autonomous driving in nearly every circumstance? I believe that a neural self driving network will chose to the best possible outcome as derived from the data it has. Data is paramount. It may be possible for the car to decide in such away as to crash itself rather than run anyone over because it knows it can safely survive the accident. Can you project a holographic solider to confront the enemy on the field?
What if the VR/AR technology is layered with AI. SO that human control the system in terms of over all decisions but the AI then does the control when it comes to mechanical movement and helping to pilot such craft in the field. How does that sound to you.
this guy is easily 10 folds smarter than Zukerberg (never felt Zukerbreg was any genius!), and you should never work for someone way below you on general culture and ideas processing time (values and ethics).
I've always liked and supported those who have this "let's do it" attitude, and really disliked those who just keep debating, reconsidering and thinking tights, rainbows, unicorns and disarmament in the face of all the doings of Russian savages seems to be OK.
jeez man these questions are borderline naive, I could not finish the interview because Segall keeps going back to this groupthink bs. I mean give yourself a blue ribbon for being "moral" if you want, just watch out for the boot in your face from those who dont care.
Pitch deck, pitch deck, pitch deck, pitch deck. She thinks she's sounding smart. In fact it's making her seem really stupid and worried about herself. It's like when Mickey (mouse) went down to the Magician Master's basement and got himself in over his head, rummaging through the trunk of magic spells. Otherwise a great interview, though, I'm sure we'll hear tons of good stuff from Palmer in the future.
our business have direct corelation with our political view. thiel (palantir),ellison(oracle),luckey(anduril) create business that sell to government and need gov support.so dont surprise if they support Trump even they r base (some still) at sillicon valley.
Interesting comments here. Everyone here seems to only hear about how he bashes China and Russia and enforces border control. They call Luckey a Patriot and a Hero. I'm hearing something totally different.
