Lyft co-founder and president John Zimmer explains to CNN's Laurie Segall how he leads through tough times, what competing with Uber is like, and his vision for self-driving cars.
Lyft will fail if it does not stop following Uber's model while uber will succeed because it was first it's own model more drivers and passengers but will hit a max / ceiling
John Zimmer. Lyft has to have text feature and bring back the call center live support rep so they can help us. WE AS DRIVER DON"T WANT EMAILED UNLESS IT NEED ATTACHMENT> MORE AND MORE LYFT DRIVER ARE SWITCHING TO DRIVING UBER ONLY> NEXT TIME YOU NEEED A RIDE FROM LYFT IT IS GOINGTO BE A LONG WAIT
I have a fantastic idea that I know would blow uber out of the water. I would love to be able to get in contact and give you my idea. I really want lyft to have this idea over Uber. This is something UBER does not have. Unless I were to bring it to them. But I really want to work with Lyft. I've had a much better experience with Lyft.
John- let me start of by saying thank you for giving me the opportunity to work under your leadership. As a previous driver, I appreciate the support you provide your drivers and now as a faithful user, even more. This company reminds me of a Costco, Berkshire Hathaway or an Apple, companies that work from the bottom up, costumer first, employee second and investor next. I look forward to your IPO.
I'm a driver and I put in more hours than before for less earning then when I first started 4 years ago you're a liar you don't care about the drivers you're screwing us left and right every chance that you get you used to be depressed what about all the drivers that you are making them go through depression I worked 8 and half hours for $76 45 of it went to gas and $6 went to tolls
I imagine you've given this a lot of objective analysis, so what is your theory on why they decided to "screw you"? I'm always fascinated at hearing the thoughtful analysis of experts who are in the trenches.

You need to change your policy on how you treat the driver, when individuals are making false reports towards drivers. It totally unfair for a driver to lose his or her job due to other people who falsely report them. Where is the driver equal right to fight? No where!!!! You guy don’t care about driver . Shame on you lyft . You guys need to change the way you see things .
Interesting interview. The gal is quite annoying at times. It looked like he was getting annoyed as well. She could have ended the interview with a better question.
Uber does not screw drivers. That is an inaccurate statement. I operate in east Tennessee and do very well for the amount of time, effort and money I put into it. For every $21 I invest in my operations, I see on average of a $425 return. It requires a bit of business sense to see escalated financial returns. Anyone who complains of Uber using "slave labor" is either financially uneducated and regularly sees their lights being turned off or is relying on payday loan services to barely get by. I add over $2000 a month to my $6500 per month salary. That works for me...
You’re either a shill or operating illegally: www.eastbayexpress.com/oakland/povertys-progressive-cheerleaders/Content?oid=14130484 www.newyorker.com/culture/annals-of-gastronomy/are-delivery-apps-killing-restaurants pix11.com/2018/10/06/uber-drivers-death-is-7th-nyc-taxi-industry-suicide-in-18/ www.theguardian.com/us-news/2017/jun/17/uber-drivers-homeless-assault-travis-kalanick
10:47 "a white dude who probably has a lot of money". @Laurie Segall, did you not hear him discuss diversity in terms of _"backgrounds, perspectives, and thoughts"_ ? Then you proceed to reinforce the ongoing pollution of the word _diversity_ by implying that it means a difference in appearance or ethnicity instead of a diversity of ideas or perspectives (what one might call, "substantive diversity"). You seem to advocate a world where everyone thinks the same but looks different. That's pretty horrifying. I don't know, but I was always taught to see that an emphasis on appearance is shallow and unwise. Or worse, just straight up racist and dumb.
@JUST Cali I guess when you can just call someone "privileged" when it suits your ridiculous argument, you don't have to bother thinking. Good luck with that.
