Thanks for uploading this demo. I'm the main graphix man of this demo. I was young (around 20). Thanks to you, I did a time travel during 16 minutes. Cheers. EdO/sct1

Never give up, stay ATARI ! I guess that we all stay stuck there, Since our memories from that time Are just part the fantasy world That remains still alive, In our very inner side !

This is really beautiful. The moire in the opening minute is gorgeous, the falling cubes that follow are very pretty... but the bubble distortion after that (against the image of a hand) is something else, really, stunningly beautiful.. I really like the twister that follows, with added gouraud shading... borrowed from the VIC and C64 demos maybe, but still effective. Lovely alpha cubes next... and the water drops that distort the backdrop of "it is raining in my my mind" are, once again, stunning. The still painting that comes up next, with "a ta ri" in hiragana is very pretty. The environment mapping in the next scene is among the best I've seen. The distorted snow-scene in the next sequence is, once again, amazing. Thank you for showing the un-adulterated source image after the wobble! The tunnel effet that follows is, as expected, lovely - although I was surprised to see it realized with flat polygons - however, it works! The dotmap that comes next, with the 3d-projection in the centre - absolute genius! The 2D-projected sphere with the six-point deforming stars that follow are equally stunning. The next sequence absolutely beggars belief. I don't know how you did that, but there are huge animated sprites in the background, and two layers of text wrapped around a sphere in opposing directions! I'm assuming a huge amount of precalc tables, because at this point I don't believe you'd cheat and use prerendered bitmaps (not that I'd blame you if you did) The sphere distortion that floats around the "Manga babe" next looks amazing too, reminiscent of one of the effects in Second Reality. The photo-realistic portrait that appears briefly, next, is very nicely rendered - good colour choices for a limited palette. Then we get one of the best plasma-tunnels I've seen for a long time. This is far and away one of the best ST demos I've ever seen. I don't know if it uses the STe enhancements (I'm too lazy to check) but I doubt it, based on the YM music (no DMA sound I could hear). Really, really well done boys. This is absolutely stunning.

John Cheseldine John, this has got to be one of the best ever replies I've ever had to an Atari ST video. Like wow you so appreciated this and I'm so happy. Glad I uploaded this and I sure hope you find more through my playlists (separate for Atari ST and Atari STe). Like wow I'm blown away by your response!!! Now, I have to ask the obvious and you know that I've not made any of these demos right? ;) I'm just a guy that loves the Atari ST gaming and demoscene. And I use YT to post STE/ST videos. But..... you guessed it.....I'm still blown away by your kind comment :-) Hope you do more!! :D Take care and thanks for stopping by. Appreciated.

Atari ST Oopsie, I probably assumed you were part of the team behind it. I was rather tired at the time and didn't bother with much research. I had no idea this particular demo existed! Given the date the video was published, I assumed it was a new release. I've been following .tSCc. Oxygene and Dead Hackers Society for quite some time now, but I wasn't aware of Sector One and Dune, although looking back I have seen some of their productions. I'm a massive retrocomputing enthusiast, and Atari is my favourite historical manufacturer and brand. I started out with Sinclair computers, but my parents bought me an STe as my first 'serious' computer in 1993, and my first experience of playing a video game was on the VCS. I don't just have a 'soft spot' for the ST, I fell in love with what we now call the A8 (the 400, 800, 1200XL, 600XL, 800XL, 65XE, 130XE and XEGS) - such an incredible platform! It would be a long time before any other consumer computer product was capable of displaying 256 colours! I'm also the proud owner of the rare Falcon030, Atari's last computer product. Some of the demos for the Falcon are just incredible. My collection consists of a 400, 2x 800XL, 65XE, XEGS, Portfolio, 520STm (with 1MB and TOS 2,06), 2x 520STFM, 520 STe, 4160STe, Mega 2, Falcon030 (14MB), 2600VCS (the original six-switch version), 2x 7800, Lynx, Lynx II and Jaguar. I used to have a TT030 and the Atari Laser printer, but I had to sell them. My STs and Falcon still see regular use - hooked up to my Korg synthesizers they still make a great scratchpad for laying down MIDI sequences and they're pretty much distraction free!
