I think 'inmate man' here means the man bounded with the chains of reality. The chain that keeps on enclosing as the man keeps on growing and I think in the very next line nature is trying to recompense the loss of divinity.

May be other commentators can answer your question, they have found the explanation of this poem in this video itself. As for summary, I never think any poem can ever be or should be summarised because it takes away the flavour itself.
