I really like the English lyrics and the German from 5:53-6:41. As an Irish (and proud EU!) citizen, I propose we change the first flag to the green-white-orange tricolour because Ireland is in the EU and the UK is not anymore
And you should fight to keep your EU status and with the fiercest pride possible; otherwise these people will do to you what they did to us in the UK. I am regretting everything that happened to us in the UK. I hope we can come back one day; and I hope there will be no more hostile feelings in Northern Ireland no more!!!

Native English speaker here. Not only did I not understand the English version, but I was actually unable to identify one single word. I feel like this is what non English speakers hear when I try to speak to them in English lol.
German Version is best i think. You can hear its the original because the lyrics fit best. The song itself is amazing. Lyrics come from Schiller himself while Beethoven made the Song - Two great people working together
The Spanish version is not Spanish! Although the lyrics are hard to grasp, they are clearly singing the Catalan adaptation written by the poet Joan Maragall: Joia que ets dels déus guspira generada dalt del cel, vent de foc el pit respira sota els plecs del teu sant vel. Ode to Joy is MAGIC, it belongs to every living person in this world. Beethoven has created the most beautiful music, which ever language it is sung or which ever instrument its played on it makes everyone feel united. 💙
I'm really sad that Russia has gone down that path as of today. I sincerelly hope that they will be able to join the european community somewhere in the future
The English version is more accurately a Christian hymn version of Ode an die Freude (called Joyful Joyful), rather than a true English language version. The one time I've heard Ode an die Freude sung in English, it was a direct translation from German. Though I prefer the song in the original German.

My English is quite good, I think. But I didn't understood a single word of the English version. It might have been Swahili. Perhaps that's why they are out of the Union.

@@fanBBL it was not written by Beethoven, it was written by Friedrich Schiller. Beethoven, aswell as Gotthilf Fischer set it to music. It was originally a poem.
