Hey Dan, I work as a mechanic and we see these large trucks all the time. Depending on the style of lift your truck has I highly recommend a kryptonite front end kit. These GM trucks are known for destroying front end components. The kit replaces the pitman arm, idler arm, idler arm bracket, and inner/outer tie rods. The CV axle boot being ruptured is caused my the lift on your truck stressing the boots. As a general rule of thumb if your truck has anything over a 2.5in. leveling kit it produces more stress onto the front end. And as for the tune and delete aspect, the people at the diesel performance shop are completely correct. I live in Georgia as well and the only place that has emissions tests are Atlanta. Where I am in Georgia almost no truck in the area has those EPA neutering devices. So you shouldn’t have to worry about it 😅. Thanks for giving me entertainment for almost 8 years man!

the block heater plug atleast on my lly is behind the passenger side headlight hope that helps ya find it. another thing to when your batterys die it can throw tcm and ecm codes but once you get it running let it charge up tur it off clear codes and reset the batteries and that should take care of some of those codes you see

37/12.50r17 is pretty common for offroad tires. I've seen alot of guys run that size in Jeeps because you can do not much of a lift with new jeeps and be able to run that size without rubbing. You may want to find out if it lowers your towing capacity because some tires are rated for less than the 35 inch counterparts.

I like the front bumper and knowing that it was made out of good quality steel is a premium most aren't willing to pay for.

There's 2 things that will COMPLETELY change the look of a vehicle. That's wheels & tint.

I do a lot of crap myself. I don't like getting help. There are times though that you need to just drop it off to the professionals and be done with it. You will love being done with it. The bumper is awesome and I say keep it!

Good call parking it till the ball joints were done. I work at a chevy dealer up in iowa and we recently had a new silverado come in that was lifted. Ended up ripping apart the upper ball joint, the in turn lower ball joint ripped out, CV axle tore apart and ripped the brake line. Tie rod ended up being the only thing holding the knuckle to the truck.

Dude, pretty sure it's always been illegal to delete the DEF and DPF. Any alteration or removal of factory emissions equipment has always been an EPA violation at minimum. The fact that GA is now enforcing it would be what's new.

Your block heater cord should be near your front bumper, if you didn’t encounter that while your were dealing with your bumper chances are you don’t have one.

I think the bumpers both rear & front should be more flatten not poke out that much.....so pretty much same design you have but closer to OEM size spec & it would be 100x better but I get it you dig the bulkiness cause of how huge that thing is.

Sorry, don’t mean to be negative but I’ve got 2 things. 1) the truck might crank slightly slower but it really should not have an issue starting, even at 7 degrees. 2) there is no such thing as “grandfathered in” for emissions. The state might not require emissions testing BUT emissions components are covered under federal law. It IS and always has been illegal to remove the emissions equipment. Gas or diesel. They just in the last 5 years started enforcing it. Diesel got more attention due to visible particulates from the exhaust and children “rolling coal” on people on the street
