I am one the luckiest drummers on the face of the planet. I toured the world for 5 years with this group seeing all sides of the all cultures. They treated me like family all the time and I'm extremely humbled and greatful god brough us togather to share the magic of music. RIP Lillian LOpez.

Going back to my roots instantly transports me back the early 80's when music was music and not just noise. Odyssey were a very talented group and had they own unique style which still sounds amazing today.

The 70 ties are better by far disco, funk, dance, soul.... The emergence of prominent black people bands or solo artists and divas..... there are so many, it would take too long to name them.

Real Good Disco Rhythm! It's time to "Boogie Down" with Odyssey one of New York's finest Disco Acts. This track is as good as "Native New Yorker", another great hit by the same group. Don't you wish that you had a "Time Machine" so you could travel back in time to the Disco Years of the '70s & '80s?! I really am dying to go back to a "Better, Friendly, Uncomplicated" time of "Peace & Love".
This is just how I feel whenever I get to re-visit my 80's/childhood hometown of Binghamton, NY, and always feel like I'm (temporarily at least) back in that amazing, magical time period whenever I'm there!

Wow I just happened to click on this song today not knowing what it was. Thanks so much as it brought back memories of my childhood. I remember this as one of my favorites back in the 70's but never knew the name of the song or the artist. As I said, thanks again Dancerclassics.
As a gay, white 16-year-old, I used to sing this song (including the words in Yoruba, having shown some promise in French), fancying myself to have roots in the baking African savannah, whereas in reality my "roots" lay in the maternity wing of Chorley hospital in Lancashire one August Friday lunchtime in 1965.

Without black people, there would never exist such great music like this!! They have way more feeling for the rhythm in their soul than any white man or woman could ever wish to have... Just the truth IMO, in no racist way as I'm a white dude.
True ... but without white guys there wouldn't be TV's, MP3's, the internet, microphones, recording systems, electrical power, CD's vinyl etc. So you wouldn't ever get to hear that good music.

'76-'77; golden window for music. Right where recording quality was perfected, but right before synths and electronic percussion took over. Even a silly pop song like this just sounds epic!
yea good song ,but would never say synths and electronic percussion took over. yea it was used A'lot but you had some artists/bands that didn't use it,The Smiths,Big country etc
I had the honer of meeting this fab group when they came to promote this great song at a night club I was working in, just a class act and great songs, one of the great bands of the time, fantastic.
