Day 35 thru hiking the Oregon Desert Trail. After breaking camp in Louse Canyon along the West Little Owyhee River, the route heads up out of the canyon and takes a high route. First some Sage Kansas, then some cow canyons. Then it's some dirt road walking to Anderson Crossing. This is where ODT hikers must decide whether or not to hike the incredible, but very difficult, stretch of Louse Canyon along West Little Owyhee River. It's 35 miles of canyon that few have ever walked. I intended to give it a go, but didn't make it far. I was wading through water mid thigh deep already because the brush was too thick along the shoreline. It's been a wet spring and the water levels were likely higher than normal. 35 miles of this is pretty committing. I backed out, and met up with Mike at Anderson Crossing for an evening of trail magic. Beer and tacos, yum!

Having rafted the Owyhee in 2018, I can’t imagine traveling through there on foot.

As adventurous as you are, you really don't get the credit you deserve making safe decisions on the trail. Taking the alternate was a smart move.

Another great video. See series says 35 videos which means this is the last one? Really like to see the end of this journey as it looks like its getting good.

Beautiful country that I will soon be visiting. I turned the sound off so I didn't have to hear your endless whining. Cheers

"Had to turn the sound off".. lol. Sounds like you're the one doing the whining. But hey, thanks for the douchy comment.
