This is what I was looking for, without the switch. Context: I live in a remote area where power outage happens once in 2 weeks. I want to connect a relay that turns on a solenoid valve for a few seconds once the electricity returns and flush waters. I have an issue where water is murkier when after a power outage and I want to make it easier for my pre-filter.
What time can be use to switch on those light permanently after power is switch off from the coil of the timer I need the light to be on and the unit to trigger the timer triggers it just for say one minute and goes off but I want the contact of the timer to be close. There's no need to hold the triggering switch as you did in the closed position to have the one-shot timer function properly. You can cycle the switch as many times as you want and the timer is unaffected (during the timing duration) that's what is special about the one-shot.

Hello Logan, thanks for your question which make us, viewers, brain storm, One of the characteristics of the timers either Solid State, Electromechanical, or Logic timers is that they rest their output switches back to their Rest State if the Control Power is cut during timing. So, in your case, ON Delay Timer is the best approach and it would be as following, A NO Limit Switch goes NC when the door is open, when the Limit Switch is Normally Close it supplies control voltage to ON delay timer, the ON Delay timer is NOTCO ( normally open time to normally close ) let's say 20 seconds, when you go through the door you have like 20 seconds to go in and shut the door so the Limit Switch will go back to NO and cut the control voltage to the ON delay timer, but if the door is kept or forgot open the limit switch will keep supplying the ON Delay Timer and it would keep timing until it finish the 20 seconds that when it's output switches change state to NC and fire the alarm Horn and Light I do hope this comment would help you and those who will read it, and thanks again for giving us the chance to brain storm by asking such good questions!
Anyone know how to use an on-delay timer as an off delay timer? I only have an on delay timer and NOT an off delay timer. I need to run a second fan for some time after the call for heat ends and shuts off the first fan. Both of the fans have to start at the same time.
