We go vertical! Tune in to see the walls go up. Stevie is very new to building and framing so learn along with him and check out the layout.
We are building an off grid wilderness cabin in the wild of the North Maine Woods. We are fighting the weather, trying to stay ahead of snowfall, and battling all of the challenges that building a cabin and especially an off grid no power or electric build can bring.
We will bring you a step by step of the process video series along with a finale including everything. If you subscribe you won't miss an episode.

Joe, at the 32:39 mark when Donnie said " thats better-er" brought the chills to me. Ever since i've watched you and Donnie together he reminds me of my late dad. My dad was a Mainah and a carpenter and as a boy growing up i remember him saying that exact thing 'word' ....better-er. Must be a Maine thing😂 Great video's Joe as always....

You guy do amazing work. The only thing I would suggest to Steve is keep your hand off the lumber when using the pneumatic nail gun to prevent an accidental nail in the hand. I’ve seen it happen and only takes 1 mishap to ruin someone’s day. Can’t wait for more videos

Great progress men! Fun to see this coming together. That is going to be one rugged cabin with those 2” hemlock studs. Shouldn’t have to worry about any snow loads with those walls.

You need a capillary break where the wood blocks meet the concrete, jack it up and slide in a roof shingle.

That wouldn't really be a capillary break with a shingle that could take on water. Would need a poly or plastic. But since the block is already raised above the ground we don't need a capillary break.

The nail gun won't hold or fire 20 penny nails. In true dimensional lumber sometimes it calls for longer and stronger nails.
