I noticed the small stream going into the pond. You could always add a hydro generator to produce electricity to supplement your solar. Beautiful place!!! I hope to have something similar one day soon.
“Schools” are there to tech next generation of wage slaves to follow simple directions and spend enough to stay enslaved..... NOT to teach them to survive free and clear of the masters....
Rick Sanchez C137 Definitely has progressed that way in the past 30 years since I left teaching. Education now is propaganda and dumbing down kids. Make compliant followers out of them.
Tesla would be proud of you for taking advantage of the solar energy. Love your cabin. It’s an inspiration. Love the rain water collection too. My dad loved collecting rain water when we were growing up. So that’s new to me. Love your cabin 💕❤️ and I would love to have a wood stove
Good job on the video! Informative, clear, concise. And you didn’t make us look around you to see the house. My compliments! I get annoyed by people who show us more of themselves than the house. You did a good job.
Garrett, you have a charming cabin. I'd gladly live there ! I am impressed that you have a downstairs bedroom and a loft as well. Your bed is amazing....I don't think there is anything I don't love about your cabin. You have a wonderful set up and I think you will have many great years of living there. Congratulations on a lovely home.
This is so perfect. It's almost exactly the setup I have been saving up to do! I would love to have my land and home just like this but with an additional loft. Great job!!!
I appreciate how clean your property is. No junk. You can clearly see the natural beauty of the land you are on. Your solar power set up is so smart and clean. You got it.
Awesome set up! It's near perfect for what I think I'd do. The stone below and how tidy you have everything tied in is great. Maybe another window or three to let in some light during the day and enjoy that beautiful property. Good for you! A real inspiration.
Very awesome! This is exactly the setup I want. You & your family really paid attention to detail. When is the generator used and what would it be like w/o one? If one had more solar panels, could they forgo the generator? God bless
I can't seem to get enough of these videos. Once the snow leave I will be starting a log cabin build. I already cleared the area for the cabin which overlooking the harbour. Thanks for sharing.
Yes they are very angry because they couldn't sneak in and stick a deadly "Smart Meter" on it that's designed to explode and burn your house down after it radiates you and gives you cancer. SMART TECH = Secret MILITARIZED ARMAMENT of Residential Technology
Dude.... this place is rad. Thanks for sharing. I have a cabin on my grandparents old farm that is on the grid but still way out back. Thinking about shutting everything down to that one and building another on the other end of the property. Been mulling it over for a while now and after seeing yours I knew immediately thats what I needed to do. Thank again and happy off the gridding!
This place is amazing. You have done a wonderful job setting this up. You have put a lot of thought into everything that you need. A very comfortable home. Well done!
Your home is beautiful. I love how it's designed, especially the loft - in most tiny homes the loft tends to be a claustrophobic nightmare but yours is nice and roomy. The entire cabin looks a lot more spacious than it is. :o)
Best "off the grid" cabin I have SEEN. I am NOT a big fan of "off the grid" but if you are going to do that, this is the way to go. You should teach the class. I would hate to be around when you replace those batteries. If you replace them say every three years, you would probably STILL be ahead of the Rural Co-op REA thing. If you look at it like THAT, it is not bad. GREAT JOB, really nice. WHERE is this?? Arkansas or someplace like that?? BB
Some of the batteries are going on 5 years old and still holding up good. Should last 10-15 years with right battery maintenance. Been working on a off grid guide setup around this cabin. Located in West Virginia. Thank you.
Garrett, would you please consider doing a video on how you set up your solar system and how you charge it with that Honda? I find it amazing how you run that line from your shed, and I have the same generator.
Spectacular👏Congratulations on your debt free home. It’s beautiful with the scenery and animals walking by. Calm, peaceful, and serene. What more could anyone ask for!
You have fufilled your dream and created a beautiful place, your attention to detail regarding your cabin and land is outstanding and definitely worth all your hard work ATB
jamie s I am sitting here in my rocking chair looking at the beautiful blue ridge mountains, and the old Shenandoah River is about 150 feet running right in front of me 💖💖 My home where I was born and raised. 5 miles from Harper's ferry WV.
By far one of our favorite off grid cabins we have found so far on you tube. We are buying some land in Tenn in the next few weeks and are looking for ideas on a solar powered cabin..TY for sharing
Great job..Love the stonework ..Its primitive and timeless perfect for an earthy look on a cabin..Matches the surroundings nicely..I just made my own plans for the exact same size cabin including the loft..slightly different floor plan..Did you lay out the floor plan and can you reach your cabin by car?
Very nice but there are a few things needed. The chimney needs a saddle behind it to break the snow. The water barrel and propane tanks, need to be moved to the Gable end of the home, so as not to be threatened by the falling of the snow from the roof. I know this because, my husband and I have lived this. thank you.
Nice !! We have 900 square feet but we are not off grid. I envy you for doing all the solar etc. Maybe one day we will add that !! It is wonderful to be mortgage free, but I would also like not having to pay for electric.
I did enjoy the video, Garrett. Thanks for making it. Very much appreciated. I'm amazed that you fit a main floor bedroom into the floor plan. Great job on everything! Lots of nice touches that I will now incorporate into my own Alaska places -- the house I built after moving here in 2006, the guest cabin down by the lake, plus a little cabin and workshop I bought last year near the Kasilof River, and finally a place I'm designing now for my next big Alaska project on the bluff looking west over the Cook Inlet toward Mt. Iliamna.
That is a very beautiful home you have. It's self sufficient, clean and well built. The best part is your carbon footprint is negligable. Truly a great story of utilizing clean energy efficiency and production. Well done.
garrett, you did an outstanding job on putting everything together, including the cabin & the solar panels, ect….having a spring on the property is a plus because you could eventually hook up the spring water to your cabin in the future, if you wanted to. (Unless you have a well dug)...you will never be out of water there for sure! But all in all, you should be proud & that is an awesome set up you have there! ty for the video, enjoyed it.
