I never want your videos to end. Something so call me watching you work, and live your life with Gracie. I know you're not feeling a 100%, you accomplish more than most people feeling great. Be well.
I am presuming that "scabbing" is what we call "sistering"....right? You seem to have endless energy & I admire that.... I have endless desire to get it done LOL but I am also realistic...& 79 yrs old. & female.... keep up the good work; you will get it done. I had to pay someone to do it all for me but I am so happy I did ...
You should not feel guilty about taking breaks- you are still healing and need to help that process. I’m also wondering if you are eating the correct things for your problem. I have had diverticulosis for years and it only bothers me when I eat the wrong thing so you should try to be careful with that. I have been a nurse for 50 years so I am speaking from experience. Sometimes it is hard to be a good patient … I know that from experience also. Thank you for sharing your life - I love Maine and I love watching it through your eyes.
Here’s a tip. If you want to spread gravel under the cabin I’d do it as you tear the floor out. Just make a ramp and wheel barrow it in and dump where needed. Don’t forget your vapor barrier. It will help with moisture and root. Especially if you later under skirt it.
When my health problems started, I found Paul Saladino on YT. He recommends eating meat from grass-fed animals, honey, fruits ( most fruits are alkaline). and raw dairy products. I eat two grams of protein per kilogram of body weight - I feel now very good. I wish you a speedy recovery and please give Gracie a big hug.
You're doing great Cory! It's a lot of hard work. Gracie is such a good girl, keeping an eye on you and making sure you're doing everything right. It's going to be a nice place for you when you're done.
Well done, Cory! God sure has given you the strength to continue to work on your house! I am glad that you're going to rest the rest of your day. Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

I am 57 and have had colitis since a teen and diverticulitis off and on the last 15 yrs. Diet doesn't help me , learning the early signs/symptoms and antibiotics early make it doable, lways carry some with you , don't let it get you down. Love the videos
As I said recently on another channel: the worse the journey, the more epic it was when one is done. Keep up the great work. We are enjoying it and are behind you 100%
Pressure treated is definitely the way to go on any outdoor build. Kudos to you for percerviering to correct someone elses previous mistakes. Keep powering through bruh, you're an inspiration to us all...👍
Gracie is an awesome boss. I'm sure she approves of everything you do!! Remember Cory, God is right there with you always. God will help you with everything. Take care and God Bless you and Gracie always
You are getting things done slowly but surely. Take your time do things right the first time and you won't have to repeat. God will Bless you and Gracie on your spiritual journey.❤❤❤❤❤
You never say 'WHOA' Cory! I luv the 'work ethic' U have...everything is done very well and you 'clean to a sheen'. Any mom would be proud of you! I will be happy 2 C the cabin with a good foundation and you ripping away at those musty/moldy floors! Thanks 4 sharing! Health and God Bless!
You're doing it right, getting the foundation all sorted out first. After you're done you'll be VERY glad you spend the time. It will make all future renovations and improvements go a lot smoother.
Look like Wolf spiders. They can put some skip in your step. I find them in my cabin and fur shed. You are doing a great job. Reminds me when I built this place 25 years ago today. Carry on… Thanks for sharing. Peace¥
I really support you for what you are doing as you work on your cabin and property…lots of hard work & difficult decisions…the end result will be awesome!👍
I would spray something like Timbor all over the underside to protect it from future decay and insects. Cheap insurance. If the plywood is sound but just smelly, you could just put Advantech on top and screw it down to the joists for an even stronger floor and that will block the smell as well. I did that to a large room in my house and it feels like concrete now. You have smells coming from everywhere inside because it's been closed up for so long. Time and ventilation will fix that. Don't worry too much over little details particularly underneath because it's a cabin and will never be perfect. A few gaps and such won't hurt the structural integrity. I was shocked to see how rigid it is when you jacked it up! It's got good bones.
The barrier you are looking for is a tank car lined. It’s a polymer material about an 1/8” thick. It’s gray in color. It’s perfect for what you’re doing.
Thank you for showing what you are doing and why, and for being a good example by stopping your work to go put on safety glasses. As for the job you are doing well I will be doing that at the end of the month myself. While I am not crazy about the job I am eager for the results!😅
Cory amazing what you are doing. I don’t know anything about reconstruction but do enjoy watching all videos. I love being out with nature and your place looks like a true hermitage peace and totally with God’s nature.
Cory, I'm a builder, you're spot on first cleaning up the work site, then tackling the foundation and floor joist. There's a reason it rotted in that corner, it looks like no building wrap or flashing. You can kill the mold smell with 50/50 bleach & water. Let it air out as long as needed. BTW, I'm not a fan of crawling under ANY house! 😂
What an amazing eBike! Great work again Cory on the foundations. Your persistence will pay off - perhaps shortly! Also, the constant tidying away of the rubbish and garbage will make you feel really on top of things once it's all away. By the way, the thing that would really make a dent in the road clearing would be a Bobcat (or equivalent) with a heavy-duty brush cutter on the front. How much would one of those costs for a day's hire? Anyway, you'll get there and we love to be with you on the journey.
It continues to look better every video. If you're going to fix it, fix right and the way you want. Making it easier on yourself for future adjustments. Stay safe my Friend. 🙏🙏
That beam not being flush with the exterior isnt that important and intact would protect it better if is pulled in from the exterior wall. The bigger issue is a 6x6 beam looks big and heavy but they just have no business being used horizontally. A doubled up 2x10 would be way stronger and wont bend in between each foundation block. The foam under the pads wont do anything as with out heat insulation dosnt do much at ground level.
Cory, just stumbled across your channel! Keep up the good work man! You’ve already made some huge improvements to the property, I’m in the middle of a huge renovation myself, so watching content like yours helps keep me motivated! One day at a time!
"Not a big fan of spiders" Eh, me either, I try to give them their space 😅 You are going to have a really nice cozy cabin when you're done there Cory, nice job so far!
Found your channel recently. Grew up spending my summers in a family Cabin way up in the North Maine Woods. Love all your content brother, keep up the good work! My Dad and I have been following this cabin build religiously!
You have the same massive spiders we have!!! YUCK. I am normally just fine with regular sized spiders but hey....those ones gotta go! Also, good work on your cabin. I've got to get caught up on your videos! Cheers from Ontario!
I would be so scared to go under the cabin like that especially with the spiders, being afraid of the cabin falling down. I never want your videos to end and you're doing an amazing job, keep up the good work.
Great video! you are doing a Awesome job on your home! a little bit of work here and a little bit there does add up to a lot. love your attention to the details. Awesome looking e bike! Love watching your videos. have a Blessed day/night/weekend. :)
Your videos are very interesting. I am learning a lot about construction from you. Obviously you know quite a bit. I own a home built in 1918 so any knowledge I can have with construction and structure of a building is beneficial to peer. It is also very exciting to see the progress. You’re a hard worker and you’re doing the majority of it by yourself. Impressive.
google says that the thickness of polyethylene vapor barriers should be 6-20ml . My last house had only a crawl space and the vapor barrier made a noticeable difference . Thank you for posting these wonderful videos ! Take care...
Foarm, 6:09 At one point I was thinking of putting spry foam around some posts I replaced, under the garden shed. Why wouldn't foam work when it comes to frost heaves? Got some great close-ups Good, we still have warm weather and you have a pond to jump into at the end of your work day.
G-G-G-G-G-G-G-GRACEY!!!!!!!!!!.......just love that animal/best friend loyal and you know everything else!!!!....love your lifestyle and positive energy!!!....your awesome dude!!!......keep on doing this i'm watching!.....i'm in edmundston nb just next door and i have a nice place on the st-john river in bakerbrook lac baker sector.........not a cabin but winnabago on site.....having fun with all them projects!!!.....good luck my friend......have a good one~~
Cory-watched you pulling sled of gravel out of your truck-I will ask an obvious question:why have a cap on your truck? Been there/done that. Unless you have a VERY specific need (theft/tools) I have found leaving your truck bed accessible to be much more useful. Looking at how you use your truck makes me think perhaps you are limiting the utility of truck.Anyway-God Bless to you and Gracie. Bill
I like your videos and admire your restoration efforts on this cabin. I wonder if you could make your vocal volume louder. I can hardly hear what you are saying so I turn up my speaker volume. Then the ads come on and blast me. 🤪
Go Foward and the Lord Will take care of the REST....:) A just Balance is the Lord's Delight.... Amen.... Don't Dought....:) Your doing a Great Job....:) God Bless you 🙏❣️
I would give more thought about putting a poly layer under the cabin. Your porcupine dung is an example. I have had animals that urinate and deficate under homes and it will just sit and pool under there. You will roll in puddles. It will smell more. I had this happen with raccoons. Not en expert, but wanted you to consider the downsides.
