I am enjoying all your videos and find them useful. We are in the planning stages of an off grid cabin near an undeveloped spring as of now. And realize the need for an outhouse as well. Where are the holes drilled, and how large, in the 55 gal drum? And did I hear you say you put the lid back on the 55 gal drum? How would that work? I'm not clear on how the whole system connects and works or how the waste flow operates.
I'm in the process of having a portable building brought in for a little back yard cabin. It's going to have power and the county is nice enough to let me hook up to my existing septic. Lol I wish I would have done this and by passed the zoning dept. These guys have nickeled and dime me to death and the cabin hasn't even been delivered yet. Can't wait to see what hoops I'll have to jump through to get everything passed. They told me they will allow a shower in it but no kithen sink (it then becomes a dwelling). I told the director I wanted a kitchen sink so I can wash a few vegetables from my garden in it. I guess I can wash themi n the shower? They can pound sand.
