❤ OK,, Finally ! This is what I’m talkin’ bout. Good Job’. No rat wall or foundation of any type so I’m thinking maybe one of those screens for the underneath as a rodent barrier as well as the steps you took here to ‘Bug-Proof’ the place.
@CROWSFOOT
@CROWSFOOT Год назад
Yes, the sky is the limit, when bugs and rodent proofing is a necessity. The plastic and caulk is minimum effort. But it has worked great.

I really enjoyed this video. I'm always glad to discover smaller channels. I believe I will now go and binge watch some of your other videos, if not all of them, so I can get caught up. I frequent the homesteading community and I haven't seen y'all's name before. I guess I'll learn more about y'all in a bit. 🤣 If y'all do happen to frequent the homesteading community as well then it is quite likely you've seen me as I moderate for a good number of those channels. So, please let me know if I've just missed you so I can look for you in the future.

Lol!! I wish!… truth is, I paid .53 cents a lineal foot for the material. Cheaper than plywood! In the Northwest wood products are cheaper because it is a renewable resource.🌞

Great video! I’m wondering though why didn’t you buy siding?
@CROWSFOOT
@CROWSFOOT 2 года назад
In this case, the structual t&g works both as siding and the interior finish that I wanted. It is 1-1/2' thick and it is designed to shed water as long as the tongue edge is installed upwards. Thanks for reaching out and Happy new year!!

How did you attach the top wall plate to the posts?
@CROWSFOOT
@CROWSFOOT 2 года назад
The rim beams are anchored to the posts with long timber locks, andb the 2x6 t&g stitch the diaphram together once nailed off from the outside.

Temporary? Do you live inside or outside City Limits? I Live outside City Limits. Only Permit I needed was for Septic and needed it before I could get my Address and Electric. Don't ask way I need it before those, I don't know and neither did anyone involved. Other than that, I don't need permits to Do or to Build Anything I want on MY Land. I live in a 32' Camper with a 12x12 Porch and have a 10x10 Shed. No Septic so use a Camping Toilet and dumping the waste bag into the garbage ( LEGAL ) even tho the Garbage men HATE that I do.. and was suppose to Renew the Permit at $400 ever 1.5 years but don't need to since I use a Camping Toilet... I Collect Rain Water for all Washing and Stuff like that, get all Drinking Water from Guy down the road, 14gallons every two weeks. Or can get it at the Gas Station (well water) just 2 miles down the road if needed. I have the problem of having a 8-12" Per 8' Feet Slop to build on... and Half my 1/2 Acre Property is Basically Wet Land, specially during the Winter Months... Florida... Driver Side of my Camper is touching the Ground and the Passenger Side is 1ft Off the Ground... North to South. So when I go to actually build my "House/Shed" Back of it will be 2ft off the Ground and Front 4-5ft off the ground.. As to have Crawl Space. Porch... will be the 4-5ft to 7-8ft at the front, Unless I lower it like a 1.5 story house. Walk up 4ft of steps into the porch and have steps up into the house... Fun Fun Fun.... Oh and Everything has to be built from Pressure Treated... because even the Pressure Treated Retaining Wall I built that is 2ft high and 24ft long ( to try and make a Level Area for the house), Rotted after 7yrs... Or Cover everything that touches the ground in Tar... But even stuff that don't touch, Rots with in a few years... Moister/Humidity is Bad in my Area of Florida. Footings? I have Commercial Grade Clay over 8ft Deep starting at Ground Level and hit Water as Shallow as 1ft and My Septic System, if I were to put one in, has to be Above Ground and the Drainage Field has to have a Base of 4ft High and Top of it would be another 5-6ft on top of that...

Howdy!, I live outside city limits.. every county has its regulations, most are different... in general, nobody needs a permit. but it can become costly if you generate complaints from neighbors etc... I only permitted my big cabin for resale value. thanks for tuning in!
@ravenlorans
@ravenlorans 2 года назад
@@CROWSFOOT Yeah, I would and still do get complaints from a few neighbors. Everyone on the street knows they are pieces of shit and all are felon assaulters and or Drug growers/dealers. So they call the county on my like I said, the county comes out and we just end up talking and Always tell me "just to Ignore them Assholes. But by law we do have to come out every time they call." The Only ones that bother me are the Calls coming from people who do NOT Live on our road ( Friends of the Assholes but not all the time ) and just drive up and down our road looking for shit to Bitch about... Karens... Cops: "Yeah, we got a call of someone living at this address pissing in the open and the call came in at 2am".. Yeah, I was taking my dog to go Potty... "Okay, you have a good day sir."... County: "We got a call of someone ........ at this address." .. Do I need a permit?... "No you are perfectly Legal with what you are doing, it's just we have to respond to every complaint by law.. You have a good day sir."... this shit happens 3-10 ( more for the pissing part ) times a year.
