no they won't.. at least not solid.. At least they didn't all last winter.. We rarely have a "hard" freeze here,, which is why I live here.. Thanks for watching.. ..Happy Trails.!!

I'm not for sure but I think you can run your Rainwater through your filter system or you have different filters or I'm not for sure

Thanks.. but,, isn't the blue pipe "pex" and the fittings shark bite.? as long as you understood.. lol.. ..If it wasn't for you showing how easy the stuff was to work with I never would have tried it.. would have done it with garden hose like I did before.. Thanks for watching.. ..Happy Trails.!!

@@deserthorizons the pipe could be either Sharkbite or Pex as they are the same dimensions. It's best you call the system Sharkbite, as Pex requires special tools and crimp collars.

You've shown a fair amount of ingenuity there, Sir.. I like your indoor urinal idea & hope it continues working well for you -- you can always add a 'pee-trap' if you start noticing some odor.. 😉 Watch your fingers around those main tank valves -- that "cover" won't prevent smaller rodents, snakes & scorpions & I'm pretty sure that was an established black widow web visible.. 🕸🕷

Thank you.. I have been using the urinal for over a year (since before the shower).. It works great.. I put a "pee-trap" inline with the hose I used originally.. it goes down through the wall to below ground level then back up to about 8" above and then down into the new pipe I just buried.. Thanks for pointing out the spider web in the water valves.. Fortunately I did not notice it or the video would NOT have continued.. I could have broken the camera getting out of there.. I have done videos on that.. First one was a composting separating toilet for 30 bucks ('16) and then I did one called Crapper with a view ('19).. I am still utilizing the same basic system just with different (newer) components,, ie: bucket,, seat,, etc.. Thanks for watching.. ..Happy Trails.!!

We got dumped on in July.. that was all it took to fill my 2 rain tanks.. Looks like you have gotten more than your share this year too.. it's all good as we both will need every drop.. Thanks for watching.. ..Happy Trails.!!

@@deserthorizons We had some nice gentle rains, a few vicious hail storms, and two quick dumps of many inches and hour for 20-30 minutes. Got rain tanks filled!

Thanks for the comprehensive look at your water setup Robert. I use a Berkely water filter too but lately its stopped filtering and smells a bit like mild swamp water. I conclude that since I am using rainwater for drinking/everything else these days that the filters have stopped working and need cleaning. Got to google how you clean them. Like the inside Urinal idea. I will be getting a shower like yours from the same company later on. Cheers!

Filters are easy to clean in a Berkey.. get a green scrubby pad,, sometimes attached to a sponge,, "C a r e f u l l y" unscrew the filter from the base holding the filter while turning the nut.. scrub it good with the scrubby and running water,, then put it back together even more carefully.. I do hope you run your water through a cheap disposable filter first. (just checked,, less than $25 for everything).. I have been using the inside urinal for over a year now and I can attest to its usefulness.. lol .. Considering that I helped work on the shower building and I put the shower itself together myself and they are working great,, along with my electric hotter water.. Ace hardware usually has the best prices on the Mustee showers.. Thanks for watching.. ..Happy Trails.!!

I have heard that snakes are telepathic.. So, my best hope is that they communicate telepathically to the other snakes "Stay AwAaaaaaY......." as I am "dispatching" them.. (maybe 15 over 6 years) Same method I use on the packrats,, mice,, spiders,, scorpions,, centi/millipedes,, flies,, mosquitos,, gnats,, etc.. I can say without a doubt,, it does not work on any insects or packrats or mice.. More data is needed for the others.. Thanks for watching.. ..Happy Trails.!!

Thank you.. It only gets better because I change or repair and replace, because I see a need.. With a lot of time to do nothin but "seeing need".. My freezer can hold 6 pizzas and almost 2 gallons of ice cream.. If I time it right I can make the ice cream last until I need more pizza🍕🍕.. Thanks for watching.. ..Happy Trails.!!

Thank you.. .Once you get out of that mindset of overabundance means overwaste.. "We have more than enough water,, electricity,, wood,, etc., lets just use as much as we can".. .. .I don't necessarily conserve out here as much as I don't waste.. ahhhhh,, the off gridders life.. don't ya' just love it.?
