Not everyone should take their dog off leash hiking. I see too many irresponsible owners these days out and about with their dogs off a leash. Please make sure that before you attempt to take your dog off leash hiking you have instilled a solid recall and you are hiking in an area where you are allowed to have your dog off leash. I also have my dogs wear their e-collars during off leash hiking as insurance for recall if we come upon a situation (such as a coyote) or if they get too far away from me to hear me. Please also be aware that if you are taking your dog off leash hiking you should not be using an e-collar without first completing professional training on how to properly use this tool.
