So the federal government came in and changed the names invented by my fellow Utah people. Wow, and the reason is they say it is offensive..... lol ........ aint got the words
I'm right there with ya ... Honestly if they looked up the ORIGINAL meaning of that "offensive" word, they would find out that it was the name the FEMALE healers (medicine women A.K.A. that offensive word 🙄) was given so to distinguish the male healers (medicine men A.K.A. Shaman ) from the ladies. My grandmother was one of those offensive word women. She taught me her native medicine ways & I never once ever heard her complain about how words hurt people. However, I'm relatively sure she would tell me if a word hurts you child then your skin isn't as thick as it was when you was born!!
Okay I have to ask how does it become the Derogatory towards women or a racial slur?? Definitely not trying to start anything but How does it become that way? Is it One person thinking that it is and we need to change or is it actually an issue????????
i would worry about the lack of running water and electricity on the reservations, but if this is what's important then here you go. how much is a sign?
