I designed and built a solar well pump station using the biggest Hoffman Box I could find. Cannot find an inverter small enough to fit in the Hoffman Box. Just a half inch too long. Ugh!
Out back system is one of the best and most reliable and still available and up to date. Nothing old school about it. And yes they are internet ready. System is able to be monitored and tweaked from anywhere in the world remotely I know from 25 years experience with this system and absolutely no problems except replacing batteries several times and upgrading panels.
Outback is not very easy to install. Lots of parts to forget, don’t get me started on the GSLC. Terrible design. They need to get up to speed in my opinion. Yes it’s a good inverter but they don’t seem to care much for making things easier or cheaper. Also. 25 yrs and no problems? I find that hard to believe. You didn’t have to change out a single radian control board? Because I’m pretty sure they were all bad in the early models. Everything has problems.
@@GainSolarPower Seriously No problems and is in use every day 24\7 for the last 25 years. I'm sure that a direct lightning strike would take it out and did lose my Brutas Vanner inverter that way before the outback. Surge protection is key and a lot of the first systems weren't grounder and didn't have any surge protection. I understand your point of view as an installer and customers just want all in one unit.
My best guess is that the power company dropped a meter or just a Well And it is like a 30 amp service kids out of the meter to the breaker panel in the plastic pool box thing, then feeds out to the well
Scary installation. What is also scary is I can not find anyone who has a Magnum MS4024 inverter in stock anywhere! I need to replace one of mine and The factory will not be supplying the distributors until June! There is a supply chain problem for power transistors.
bummer they didn't put it in a proper shed. after all, the money put into the gear was substantial.. unless they put the cart before the horse and the shed was an after thought. few grand of gear placed inside a $200 rubbermaid tote with barn doors lol
I know. It looks like it did ok for a while. When I first got there the top had blown off. But not much corrosion. It would probably fire right up if battery wasn’t dead as a dang doornail
@Gain Solar Services yep we are thankful to be electrical contractors also with great client's also. But when it comes to complete off grid. People just dont want to pay for a good install. So they find youtube- youtubers. I guess and try to get it right.. LOL your one of few that do some good work. I see.
